How do I cross from Kenya to the Tanzania safari circuit?
The most seamless way is a 1-hour flight from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro (JRO). From there, a private luxury 4x4 will pick you up, or you can take a small bush plane directly into the park
Do I need a yellow fever certificate to enter Tanzania from Kenya?
Yes. Since Kenya is considered a yellow fever endemic zone, Tanzanian immigration requires proof of vaccination when crossing the border.
Is the visa for Kenya valid in Tanzania?
No. They are separate countries. You will need a Tanzanian visa. However, you can apply for an E-visa online before your departure from Nairobi to save time.
Can I see the Great Migration in 3 days?
Yes. By flying from Kenya directly into the Serengeti, you land right in the heart of the migration area, maximizing your viewing time.
What is the best departure point in Nairobi?
Wilson Airport (WIL) is the most convenient for bush flights, as it specializes in regional and safari departures, offering a faster boarding process than Jomo Kenyatta.
Will I have a private guide throughout the 3 days?
Absolutely. Your dedicated Tanzanian professional guide will meet you at the arrival point and stay with you exclusively until you fly back to Kenya.
Is there a time difference between Kenya and Tanzania?
No. Both countries share the same time zone (East Africa Time), so your schedule remains perfectly synchronized.
What currency should I use?
While the Tanzanian Shilling is local, US Dollars (printed after 2006) are the standard for luxury safaris and are widely accepted for all high-end services.
Can I combine a stay in the Mara with this 3-day trip?
Yes, but it requires a flight via Nairobi or a ground transfer through the Isebania/Sirari border. Flying is highly recommended to maintain the "luxury" pace.
What clothes should I pack for the flight?
Due to strict weight limits on bush planes, pack light, breathable layers. Evenings in the Ngorongoro highlands can be chilly compared to the warmth of Nairobi.
