Refund Policy

At Burigi Chato Safaris, we strive to provide exceptional safari experiences across Tanzania. We understand that travel plans may change, and this Refund Policy outlines the terms applicable to cancellations, amendments, and refunds.

Booking Deposit

A deposit is required to confirm your safari booking. The deposit amount and payment schedule will be specified in your booking confirmation.

Please note that deposits may be non-refundable depending on the services secured on your behalf, including accommodations, park permits, flights, and other third-party arrangements.

Cancellation by the Client

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email.

Refund Schedule

More than 60 days before departure: 90% refund of payments received
31–60 days before departure: 70% refund of payments received
15–30 days before departure: 50% refund of payments received
7–14 days before departure: 25% refund of payments received
Less than 7 days before departure: No refund

Any costs already incurred by Burigi Chato Safaris for accommodations, domestic flights, park fees, permits, special requests, or other non-refundable services will be deducted from the refundable amount.

Amendments and Changes

Requests to modify travel dates, accommodations, or safari itineraries are subject to availability and may result in additional charges. Burigi Chato Safaris will make every reasonable effort to accommodate requested changes.

No-Show and Early Departure

No refunds will be provided for:

Failure to arrive for a scheduled safari.
Missed activities or game drives.
Voluntary early departure from the safari.
Unused accommodations, meals, or transportation services.

Cancellation by Burigi Chato Safaris

In the unlikely event that Burigi Chato Safaris must cancel a safari due to operational reasons within our control, clients will be offered:

A full refund of all payments made, or
The option to transfer the booking to a future date.

Events Beyond Our Control

Burigi Chato Safaris shall not be held liable for cancellations, delays, or interruptions caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

Natural disasters, floods, fires, or severe weather conditions
Pandemics or epidemics
Government actions, travel restrictions, or political unrest
Civil disturbances or terrorism
Airline disruptions

In such circumstances, we will work closely with our clients and suppliers to arrange alternative travel dates, credits, or revised itineraries whenever possible.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 14–30 business days from the date of approval. Refunds will be made using the original payment method whenever possible.

Bank transfer fees, payment gateway charges, credit card processing fees, and currency conversion costs may be deducted from the refundable amount.

Travel Insurance

Burigi Chato Safaris strongly recommends that all travelers obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering:

Trip cancellation and interruption
Medical emergencies and emergency evacuation
Personal liability
Lost or delayed baggage

Travel insurance provides important protection against unforeseen circumstances that may affect your trip.
