1 Day Tanzania Fly-In Drive-Out Safari to Tarangire National Park

This trip starts with an early flight from Arusha or Zanzibar to the Kuro airstrip located in the heart of the park. You will be met by a guide who will take you on an extensive game drive for the rest of the day. In the late afternoon, you begin the return journey to Arusha by road, which takes about two hours. It is an efficient way to see the wilderness without spending your whole morning in a car

Small bush planes have strict weight restrictions, usually capped at fifteen kilograms per person. Since this is a single day excursion, we recommend carrying only a small backpack with your essentials. If you have larger suitcases, we can arrange for them to be stored safely

We provide a high quality picnic lunch box that you can enjoy at a scenic site overlooking the river. The meal typically includes sandwiches, chicken, fruits, and snacks to keep your energy up for the afternoon game drive. We can also accommodate dietary requirements like vegetarian or gluten free options if you notify us in advance. Bottled water is available in the vehicle throughout the day as well.

The drive back to Arusha passes through several interesting areas where you can stop at a local Maasai boma. This adds a cultural element to your wildlife focused day and allows you to learn about traditional lifestyles. It usually adds about an hour to your return trip. Please let your guide know in the morning so they can manage the schedule effectively.

Our 4x4 Land Cruisers are equipped with charging ports for your cameras and phones. You will also have a fridge with cold drinks to keep you refreshed during the journey. The vehicle features a pop-up roof for the last game drive before exiting the park. We ensure the seating is comfortable for the two hour road trip back to the city.

The dry season from June to October is the peak time for wildlife viewing as animals congregate around the Tarangire River. During these months, you can see thousands of animals in a very small area. However, the green season from November to May is excellent for birdwatching and seeing newborn animals. Each season offers a unique perspective of the landscape.

The flight into the park is a major highlight for kids and saves them from a long morning drive. Tarangire is a great park for families because the animals are very visible and easy to spot. You do not have to worry about long stretches without access to a bathroom. These sites also offer great views of the park while you take a short break.

If you wish to stretch your legs, we can arrange a guided walking tour with an armed ranger near the park entrance. This gives you a closer look at the tracks, plants, and smaller creatures of the bush. It is a fantastic extra activity that complements your game drive nicely. We simply need to book the ranger in advance to ensure availability.
