Take your family on a 10-day Kenya safari through Samburu, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli.
Our 10-Day Kenya Family Discovery Safari turns five remarkable destinations into a shared adventure for children, parents and grandparents. Samburu introduces unusual northern wildlife and practical lessons about how animals survive in dry environments. Lake Nakuru adds rhinos and endangered-species conservation before our journey continues into the Maasai Mara for two complete family wildlife days among lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes and grazing herds. Lake Naivasha provides a refreshing change with hippos, fish eagles and an optional family boat safari, while Amboseli completes the tour with elephant families, wetlands and possible Mount Kilimanjaro views. Your private vehicle allows additional washroom stops, flexible meal times and shorter activities when younger travellers or older relatives become tired. Selected luxury lodges provide comfortable family rooms, suitable dining and helpful staff throughout the journey.
Your family will be collected from Nairobi in the early morning. After luggage assistance, child-seat checks and a wildlife-safety briefing, our journey will cover approximately 310–340 kilometres and normally take 5½–7 hours plus family comfort stops. You will travel through farms, towns and changing northern landscapes before arriving at your family-friendly lodge. When timing permits, a short afternoon game drive may introduce elephants, giraffes, zebras and antelopes.
After breakfast, your family will explore approximately 40–80 kilometres of Samburu during six to eight hours of wildlife viewing. Your guide will explain animal adaptation, water dependence and the region’s special wildlife using language suited to the children’s ages. Possible sightings include Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, gerenuks, elephants, lions and birds. Children may keep a wildlife checklist or photo journal, while the private vehicle allows additional breaks.
After breakfast and check-out, our journey will cover approximately 275–300 kilometres and normally take 5½–6½ hours plus meal, washroom and stretching stops. Children can observe how the dry northern landscape changes into greener farms and highland areas. After arriving at your family-friendly accommodation, you will enjoy a relaxed afternoon and update wildlife journals or photographs.
Following breakfast, your family will enjoy a three-to-four-hour Lake Nakuru safari covering approximately 25–45 kilometres. Possible sightings include rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, baboons and birds. Your guide will explain why rhinos are threatened and how protected areas help conserve them. After lunch and check-out, our tour continues approximately 220–260 kilometres to the Maasai Mara over five to six hours.
After breakfast, your family will leave with a picnic lunch for approximately seven to eight hours of wildlife viewing across 50–90 kilometres. Possible sightings include lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, wildebeest and zebras. Your guide will explain food chains, camouflage and animal families while allowing children to ask questions. Comfort stops will be included where facilities are available.
Our second Mara day may cover approximately 40–80 kilometres during five to eight hours of activity. The family may explore river areas for hippos and crocodiles, woodland for elephants and birds or open plains for predators. The programme may be shortened or divided into morning and afternoon drives when your lodge location permits.
After breakfast and check-out, our road journey will cover approximately 230–260 kilometres and normally take five to six hours plus family stops. You will pass Maasai communities, rolling hills and Rift Valley farms before arriving at your lakeside lodge. The afternoon will be available for relaxation or a short lodge-based activity.
When included and safe to operate, the family boat activity will last approximately one to one and a half hours. Children must wear approved life jackets and remain under adult supervision. Possible sightings include hippos, fish eagles and waterbirds. After breakfast and check-out, our journey continues approximately 300–340 kilometres to Amboseli over 5½–7 hours plus family comfort stops.
After breakfast, your family will explore approximately 50–90 kilometres of Amboseli during seven to nine hours of wildlife viewing. Your guide will explain elephant family structures, communication and dependence on wetlands. Possible sightings include elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hippos and birds. Mount Kilimanjaro may appear when the weather is clear.
After breakfast and check-out, our safari will travel approximately 215–240 kilometres to Nairobi over four to five hours plus comfort stops. Your guide may help children review their wildlife checklist before dropping the family at a hotel, residence or airport.

The Booking Form
Take your family on a 10-day Kenya safari through Samburu, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli.
N.B: After you send your booking we will get back to you with in 24 hours.
1. What age is suitable for this safari?
Children of many ages can participate, but parents should consider road-travel tolerance, sleeping routines and the ability to remain seated during game drives. The private programme can be adjusted, but it cannot remove every long transfer.
2. Is the vehicle private?
Yes. A private vehicle allows flexible washroom stops, meal times and activity lengths without affecting unrelated travellers.
3. Can child seats be provided?
Child and booster seats may be requested subject to availability. Parents should provide each child’s age, height and approximate weight before confirmation.
4. Are family rooms available?
Many lodges provide family tents, suites or connecting rooms, but layouts vary. Early booking is important because these room categories are limited.
5. Can meals be simplified for children?
Yes. Lodges can usually prepare pasta, rice, vegetables, chicken or other simple dishes when informed in advance. Serious allergies must be explained clearly.
6. Can full-day game drives be shortened?
Yes. Activities may be shortened or divided when lodge location permits. This may reduce the area covered, but family comfort remains important.
7. Is the boat safari safe for children?
Children must wear life jackets and follow the crew’s instructions. Participation may depend on age, weather and local safety rules. Parents remain responsible for supervision.
8. Can grandparents join?
Yes. Mobility, medication, room location and vehicle access should be discussed before booking. The private itinerary allows extra breaks.
9. What should parents pack?
Bring sun protection, warm layers, medication, reusable water bottles, snacks, wipes and quiet road entertainment. Important family items should remain in hand luggage.
10. Can educational activities be included?
Yes. Wildlife checklists, journals, simple photography assignments and child-friendly conservation discussions can be included without making the safari feel like school.
