Celebrate on a 10-day private Kenya honeymoon through Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli.
Celebrate your honeymoon, anniversary or proposal journey on this 10-Day Kenya Honeymoon Escape through the Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli. Three complete Maasai Mara safari days create time for lions, cheetahs, elephants and romantic savannah sunsets without compressing every experience into one rushed outing. Lake Nakuru introduces meaningful rhino encounters and green woodland scenery, while Lake Bogoria adds dramatic geothermal landscapes and possible flamingos. Lake Naivasha provides a slower lakeside interval with an optional private boat safari before Amboseli completes the journey with elephant families, wetlands and possible Mount Kilimanjaro views. A private vehicle allows the couple to travel without a shared timetable, while luxury lodges may arrange flowers, bed decorations, celebration cakes, private dinners and sundowners when confirmed in advance.
Your private driver-guide will collect you and your partner from your Nairobi hotel, residence or airport in the early morning. The journey of approximately 270–300 kilometres normally takes 5½–6½ hours, depending on traffic, the selected reserve gate and lodge location. Private refreshment, photography and comfort stops will be arranged as you travel through the Great Rift Valley and Maasai pastoral country. After arriving at your luxury lodge or tented camp, you will check in, enjoy lunch and rest before beginning a short afternoon game drive. Possible sightings include elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and predators against warm evening scenery.
After breakfast, you will leave with a picnic lunch for approximately seven to nine hours of private wildlife viewing. The vehicle may cover around 60–100 kilometres, although the day will be guided by wildlife activity rather than mileage. Possible encounters include lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras and hyenas. The private arrangement allows you to remain longer at meaningful sightings, request couple photographs at safe viewpoints and enjoy quiet moments without following another group’s timetable.
Your second full Mara day may explore river habitats, wooded drainage lines or quieter plains. The vehicle may travel approximately 50–90 kilometres during six to nine hours of safari activity, depending on the preferred pace. Possible wildlife includes hippos, crocodiles, leopards, elephants, birds and predators. Lunch may be carried as a picnic or enjoyed at the lodge when its location makes a midday return practical. An optional private sundowner, celebration cake or romantic dinner may be arranged for the evening.
The third complete Mara day provides freedom to revisit a favourite area or enjoy a slower schedule. You may cover approximately 40–90 kilometres during a programme of five to eight hours, depending on whether the day is operated as one continuous safari or divided into morning and afternoon drives. A hot-air balloon safari may be added in advance, subject to weather, availability and additional cost. The evening can include a private dinner, flower arrangement or special room setup when confirmed.
After breakfast and check-out, you will travel approximately 230–260 kilometres to Lake Nakuru, normally taking five to six hours. The private transfer passes Maasai landscapes, farms, towns and highland scenery, with meal and comfort stops arranged according to your preferences. After arriving at the luxury accommodation, you will have a relaxed afternoon together. A spa appointment or special dinner may be requested depending on the property.
You will begin the day with a three-to-four-hour private Lake Nakuru safari covering approximately 25–50 kilometres. Possible sightings include rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, baboons, zebras and birds. After lunch and lodge check-out, you will travel approximately 110–130 kilometres to the Lake Bogoria region, a journey of around 2½–3½ hours. You will arrive in the afternoon and settle into your accommodation before the following day’s scenic lake experience.
After breakfast, you will explore Lake Bogoria’s geothermal and lakeshore environment for approximately three to four hours, travelling an estimated 20–40 kilometres locally. Flamingos, waterbirds, hot springs, steam and escarpment scenery may be observed, although wildlife numbers and accessibility vary naturally. After lunch, you will travel approximately 180–210 kilometres to Lake Naivasha, normally taking 3½–4½ hours. On arrival, you may enjoy lakeside relaxation, a private dinner or a sunset drink.
The morning may include a private or shared boat safari lasting approximately one to one and a half hours, depending on the confirmed booking. Possible sightings include hippos, African fish eagles, pelicans and cormorants. You will then travel approximately 300–340 kilometres to Amboseli, a journey of 5½–7 hours. Private meal, refreshment and comfort stops will be arranged before arrival at your luxury lodge.
After breakfast, you will explore Amboseli for approximately seven to nine hours, covering around 50–90 kilometres. Elephant families, large bulls, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hippos and birds may be encountered, while Mount Kilimanjaro may appear when skies are clear. Your guide will identify safe places for couple photographs and may arrange a picnic lunch or lodge-based meal. A farewell sundowner, cake or private dinner can be organised when available.
After breakfast and check-out, you will travel approximately 215–240 kilometres to Nairobi, normally taking four to five hours. Stops will be adjusted around your onward travel plans before drop-off at a hotel, residence, JKIA or Wilson Airport. Couples continuing to the coast, Tanzania or Zanzibar should confirm their connection schedule in advance.

The Booking Form
Celebrate on a 10-day private Kenya honeymoon through Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli.
N.B: After you send your booking we will get back to you with in 24 hours.
1. Can the safari be customised around our wedding date or anniversary?
Yes. The departure, lodge sequence and romantic arrangements can be designed around a wedding, honeymoon, anniversary or proposal. Exact dates should be shared before accommodation is requested, especially when you want a special celebration to occur in the Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha or Amboseli. Popular suites and private dining locations may require early reservation.
2. Are honeymoon decorations included at every lodge?
Not automatically. Some properties offer simple bed decorations or a cake as a complimentary gesture, while others charge for flowers, premium decorations or private meals. The final quotation should state which arrangements have been requested and which are confirmed. Couples should not rely on verbal promises that are absent from the booking documents.
3. Can we arrange a surprise proposal during the safari?
Yes. A proposal can be coordinated at a lodge, sundowner location or authorised scenic viewpoint. The plan should not depend on a particular animal or Mount Kilimanjaro appearing at an exact time. The guide and lodge staff can help protect the surprise while keeping the arrangement safe and realistic.
4. Is Lake Bogoria suitable for a romantic itinerary?
Lake Bogoria is less about polished resort luxury and more about dramatic scenery, geothermal landscapes and natural character. It provides a visually different experience between the major wildlife destinations. Couples seeking only spa and resort environments may prefer another night at Lake Naivasha, but adventurous couples often value Bogoria’s uniqueness.
5. Can we have a private Lake Naivasha boat?
A private boat may be arranged when available, although some quotations may use a shared boat. Weather, wind and water conditions can affect operation. The boat crew’s safety decision takes priority over the romantic schedule.
6. Is the hot-air balloon safari included?
No, unless specifically listed. It is an optional activity in the Maasai Mara and involves an early departure, weather dependency and additional cost. Balloon availability may be limited during popular travel periods.
7. Can one partner skip an activity?
Yes. A guest may remain at the lodge when they prefer rest, provided this is safe and compatible with the room and meal arrangements. Because the vehicle is private, the remaining partner can sometimes continue with the guide, although major route changes must be discussed.
8. Can dietary requests be handled during romantic dinners?
Most luxury properties can accommodate common requests when informed early. Serious allergies should be explained clearly, including ingredients and severity. A romantic setup does not replace food-safety requirements, so dietary details should be reconfirmed at each property.
9. Can the safari continue to a beach destination?
Yes. Diani Beach, Watamu, Mombasa or Zanzibar may be added after Amboseli. The most efficient connection depends on flight availability, travel dates and the final international departure airport.
10. How far in advance should a honeymoon safari be confirmed?
Booking six to twelve months ahead is advisable when particular lodges, honeymoon suites or high-season dates matter. Last-minute arrangements may still be possible, but couples may need to accept different properties or room categories.
