After a registration with the Kilimanjaro National Park authorities, you'll be driven further up the mountain to the trailhead. The first day's climb is relatively short, covering about 5.5km through the lush Rainforest zone to reach Mti Mkubwa Camp at 2,820 meters. Along the way, you might be lucky enough to spot some large wildlife, like elephants and buffaloes. After an exciting day, a delicious dinner awaits you at Mti Mkubwa Camp.
