Take some time to settle into the African atmosphere and relax. You will begin you're exciting 10-day Kilimanjaro Trek adventure via the Northern Circuit Route the next day

    After breakfast, you'll be picked up from your lodge and driven to the Londorossi Gate at 2,250 meters. Once the necessary registration is completed, your trek begins as you venture into the dense rainforest. An armed ranger will accompany you for the first two days due to the presence of wild game in the area. Your destination for the day is the Big Tree Camp at 2,780 meters, where you'll spend the night in tents.

    Leaving the rainforest behind, you'll enter a savannah of tall grasses, heather, and volcanic rock adorned with lichen beards. Ascending through lush rolling hills and crossing streams, you'll reach the Shira Ridge before descending to Shira 1 Camp, where you'll catch your first glimpse of Kibo across the plateau.

    Today's ascent will be less steep as you trek to an altitude of 3,850 meters, covering a distance of approximately 7 kilometers. You'll set off in a southeastern direction across the moor and heathland of the Shira Plateau, where you may spot buffalo, dik-dik, and klipspringer. Shira 2 Camp, also known as Shira Huts, will be your home for the night.

    Today involves a long and challenging ascent. You'll trek to the base of the famous Lava Tower at 4,600 meters to acclimatize, then descend to Moir Hut Camp at 13,580 feet. The trail is rugged, with ups and downs, and you may bypass Lava Tower if needed for better acclimatization.

    Leaving Moir Hut, you'll trek to the summit of Lent Hills at 4,375 meters and then head eastwards around the northern circuit trail. The trail passes through a field of rock slabs, and you'll eventually arrive at Buffalo Camp at 4,020 meters.
