Explore Kenya on a 10-day premium road safari through Samburu, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli.
Our 10-Day Premium Kenya Northern Wilderness & Savannah Road Safari is created for travellers who want to experience the changing landscapes of Kenya while travelling entirely by private safari vehicle. The journey begins in Nairobi and continues north to Samburu, where dry bushland, the Ewaso Nyiro River and rare northern animals provide a distinctive wildlife introduction. Lake Nakuru adds rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, woodland habitats and lakeshore birdlife before the route continues to the Maasai Mara for two complete days among predators, elephants and open-plains wildlife. Lake Naivasha offers a peaceful freshwater break with a confirmed boat safari, guided birdwatching activity or Crescent Island nature walk. Amboseli completes the safari with elephant families, wetlands, open plains and possible views of Mount Kilimanjaro when the skies are clear. Premium accommodation, a private vehicle and carefully planned meal and comfort stops make the long road journey comfortable and rewarding.
Journey through Central Kenya
At approximately 5:30 AM, our driver-guide will collect you from your Nairobi hotel, residence or agreed meeting point. You will begin the private road journey through central Kenya, passing agricultural areas, market towns and changing highland scenery. Breakfast, refreshments and a suitable comfort stop will be arranged during the drive.
Premium Samburu Arrival
You will arrive in the Samburu area around lunchtime and check into your premium lodge or luxury tented camp. After lunch, you will have time to rest and enjoy the dry northern surroundings. A short evening game drive may be completed when arrival time, road conditions and the confirmed programme permit.
Special Five and Elephant Search
At around 6:00 AM, you will begin a morning game drive through Samburu’s dry plains and riverine habitats. Our guide will search for Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, gerenuks, Beisa oryx, Somali ostriches, elephants and possible predators. Wildlife movement and natural conditions will determine the final route.
Ewaso Nyiro River Exploration
After breakfast, lunch and a midday lodge break, you will return for an afternoon safari at approximately 3:30 PM. The guide may explore areas near the Ewaso Nyiro River, where elephants, antelopes, giraffes and birds may gather. You will return to the lodge at around 6:30 PM for dinner.
Scenic Highland Transfer
After breakfast and check-out, you will leave Samburu and travel toward Lake Nakuru. The landscape gradually changes from dry northern bushland to fertile highlands, farms and Great Rift Valley scenery. Lunch, refreshments and suitable comfort stops will be included during the journey.
Premium Nakuru Evening
You will arrive in the Lake Nakuru area during the afternoon and check into your premium accommodation. The remaining time allows you to relax, enjoy the lodge surroundings and prepare for the next morning’s wildlife drive. Dinner follows before an early overnight rest.
Morning Rhino Safari
At approximately 6:00 AM, you will enter Lake Nakuru National Park for an early game drive. The guide will search for black or white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, possible predators and lakeshore birds. Flamingo numbers change naturally according to water and feeding conditions.

Sunrise Savannah Wildlife Search
At around 6:00 AM, you will begin a full-day game drive across open plains, woodland and riverine habitats. Our guide will search for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs, hyenas and possible leopards. The private vehicle allows an unhurried wildlife-viewing pace.
Picnic and Afternoon Game Drive
At approximately 12:30 PM, you will enjoy a packed picnic lunch at an authorised location inside the reserve. The afternoon safari continues through another wildlife zone until around 5:30 PM. You will return to your premium accommodation for dinner and relaxation
New Wildlife Routes
At approximately 6:00 AM, you will return to the reserve and explore areas not fully covered during Day 5. Your guide will plan the route according to wildlife movement, previous sightings and current road conditions. Possible encounters include predators, elephant families and large herbivore groups.
Extended Afternoon Exploration
After lunch at around 12:30 PM, the safari continues through open grasslands and river corridors. The second full Mara day provides more time to observe natural animal behaviour without rushing between distant sightings. You will return to the lodge before dinner.
Final Mara Morning
A short morning game drive may be completed before breakfast when the accommodation location and confirmed programme permit. Your guide may revisit productive wildlife habitats or search for species missed during the two full days. You will then return for breakfast and complete check-out.

The Booking Form
Explore Kenya on a 10-day premium road safari through Samburu, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli.
N.B: After you send your booking we will get back to you with in 24 hours.
1. Why choose a road safari instead of a flying safari?
A road safari allows you to observe Kenya’s changing landscapes, farms, towns and rural communities between the reserves. You will remain with the same private vehicle and driver-guide throughout the journey, making communication and luggage handling easier. Road travel also avoids the strict baggage limits commonly associated with small safari aircraft. Several transfers are long, so guests should be comfortable spending substantial time inside the vehicle. Suitable meal and comfort stops will be included during the journey.
2. Is the vehicle private throughout the safari?
Yes, all road transfers and game drives are planned with a private safari vehicle unless your confirmation states otherwise. No unrelated travellers will be added to the vehicle. The private arrangement provides flexibility with seating, photography, comfort stops and time spent at wildlife sightings. Park regulations, road conditions and lodge schedules must still be respected. Your guide will explain the following day’s programme each evening.
3. Are all park fees and activities included?
Only the park fees and activities listed clearly in the confirmed quotation are included. The final package should specify accommodation, meals, entrance fees and the selected Lake Naivasha activity. Optional cultural visits, private boats and additional nature walks may attract separate charges. Entrance rates can also vary according to age, nationality and residency status. Review the final inclusion list carefully before confirming the booking.
Are wildlife sightings guaranteed?
No wildlife sighting can be guaranteed because animals move naturally according to water, food, territory and weather. The guide will search suitable habitats and use available local information responsibly. The five-destination route provides good wildlife variety but does not create a guaranteed checklist. Road access and vegetation may also affect visibility. The journey should be enjoyed as a complete safari experience rather than a promise of specific animals.
5. Can this road itinerary be extended?
Yes, extra nights may be added in Samburu, the Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha or Amboseli. A slower itinerary is particularly useful for families, senior travellers and guests who prefer shorter daily transfers. Other destinations such as Ol Pejeta, Lake Baringo, Tsavo or the Kenyan coast may also be included. Additional nights affect transport, accommodation and park-fee costs. Changes should be completed before the lodges and entrance arrangements are confirmed.
