Day 1: Journey from Nairobi to Amboseli – Elephants Through the Lens

Journey from Nairobi to Amboseli – Elephants Through the Lens

Our Kenya photographic safari starts with collection from your Nairobi hotel, residence or the airport, followed by a scenic drive through the landscapes of southern Kenya. During the journey, our guide will discuss the photographic possibilities you can expect in Amboseli and the wildlife subjects that interest you most. After arriving, you will check in at your comfortable midrange accommodation, have lunch and organise your equipment. The afternoon drive introduces you to Amboseli’s open plains, dusty tracks, acacia trees and permanent wetlands. You will photograph elephant families, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and other wildlife while our guide watches animal movements and positions the vehicle responsibly for clear angles and natural backgrounds.

Day 2: Amboseli Photography Expedition – Kilimanjaro Views and Nairobi

Amboseli Photography Expedition – Kilimanjaro Views and Nairobi

You will leave the midrange lodge early to take advantage of the softer morning light and the possibility of a clear view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Our guide will search for visually rewarding encounters, including elephants crossing the plains, hippos in the wetlands, birds in flight and herbivores gathering near water. Rather than rushing between sightings, our photographic safari allows you to observe behaviour and wait for meaningful moments to develop. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a designated location before you continue photographing wildlife and the broad Amboseli landscape. Later in the afternoon, you will begin the drive to Nairobi, where our guide will drop you off in the evening.

RELATED FAQS ABOUT 2 Days Kenya Photographic Safari: Amboseli Elephants

    1. What makes this a photography-focused safari?

Our guide allows a slower viewing pace, considers light direction and provides time to observe wildlife behaviour before moving to another location.

    2. Does the vehicle leave official tracks for better pictures?

No. Our safari follows Amboseli National Park regulations. Wildlife photographs must be captured without off-road driving or disturbing animals.

    3. Can I support my camera on the vehicle?

Yes. You can use a beanbag or compact camera support on the window or roof area, provided it does not interfere with other passengers.

    4. Is camera equipment supplied?

No. Guests should bring their own camera, lenses, batteries, memory cards and protective equipment unless a rental arrangement is confirmed separately.

    5. What subjects can we photograph besides elephants?

Amboseli may offer giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, hippos, birds, predators, wetlands, acacia landscapes and local mountain scenery.

    6. Can I reserve an entire vehicle row for equipment?

Yes. Because this is a private package, seating and equipment space can be discussed before confirming the safari.

    7. Are charging points available overnight?

Most midrange accommodation provides electricity during specified hours. Carrying additional batteries and a power bank is recommended.

    8. How should I protect my equipment while changing lenses?

Keep the camera inside the vehicle, avoid changing lenses during strong wind and use a protective bag to reduce exposure to dust.

    9. Can our guide wait for a particular animal behaviour?

Yes, when time and park regulations allow. Wildlife remains unpredictable, so patience does not guarantee a specific action.

    10. Is this package a photography workshop?

The standard package is a photography-friendly safari, not a technical workshop. A professional photography instructor can be requested separately.

    Elephants, Light and Kilimanjaro

    5/5

This Kenya photographic safari gave me some of the strongest wildlife images from my entire trip. Our guide was patient enough to wait as an elephant family slowly crossed the plain, and Kilimanjaro appeared behind them for several incredible minutes.

    Outstanding Private Service

    5/5

Our guide understood that one meaningful sighting can be better than chasing ten distant animals. We spent time observing elephants at the wetland and captured natural behaviour without interfering with them.

    Strong Safari for Wildlife Filmmakers

    5/5

I travelled with both still and video equipment, and the private vehicle provided enough working space. The midrange lodge had charging facilities, good food and a convenient departure point for the early drive. Amboseli’s open landscape was excellent for filming wildlife movement.

    Patient Guide and Outstanding Landscapes

Our guide watched the animals carefully and anticipated their direction instead of constantly repositioning the vehicle. This gave us clean, respectful photographs of elephants, zebras and giraffes.

Amboseli Delivered the Classic African Scene

    5/5

Early on the second morning, the clouds opened and revealed Kilimanjaro behind a group of elephants. That single scene justified the journey, but we also photographed hippos, buffaloes, birds and dramatic savannah landscapes.
