    Day 2: Mandara Hut to Marangu Gate

    After breakfast at Mandara Hut, you'll continue your trek towards the Horombo Hut. The trek covers a distance of approximately 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) and takes about 5-7 hours. As you ascend, the vegetation changes from rainforest to moorland. You'll have the chance to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Upon reaching Horombo Hut, situated at an altitude of 3,720 meters (12,204 feet), you'll have a short break for lunch. After lunch, you'll descend back to the Marangu Gate, which takes around 5-6 hours. At the gate, you'll receive your summit certificates and say goodbye to your guide and porters.
