Join a 2-day Lake Nakuru birdwatching safari package from Nairobi for guided birding, lakeshore species, scenic game drives and midrange lodging.
This 2-day Lake Nakuru midrange birdwatching safari package is designed for bird lovers seeking a rewarding short tour from Nairobi. With our knowledgeable guide, you will explore lakeshore, woodland, grassland and rocky habitats in search of flamingos when present, pelicans, fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, storks, raptors and many other species, while also enjoying sightings of rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes and other Lake Nakuru wildlife.
Our 2-day Lake Nakuru birdwatching safari begins when our guide picks you up from Nairobi and drives through the Great Rift Valley toward Lake Nakuru National Park. After a scenic stop and arrival at your midrange lodge, you will have lunch before starting an afternoon birdwatching game drive. You will explore lakeshore and woodland habitats while searching for pelicans, herons, storks, kingfishers, African fish eagles, cormorants and flamingos when water and feeding conditions are favorable. Our guide will help identify the species you encounter and provide time for observation, photography and note-taking. Along the way, you may also see rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks and baboons before returning to your lodge for the evening.
After breakfast, you will leave the lodge for a full-day Lake Nakuru birding tour covering several habitats within the national park. Our guide will search for both waterbirds and terrestrial species around the lakeshore, acacia woodland, open grassland and rocky viewpoints. Depending on the season and conditions, you may observe raptors, hornbills, weavers, sunbirds, bee-eaters, lapwings and various migratory species. The slow birdwatching pace also gives you an opportunity to enjoy the park’s larger wildlife and photograph its landscapes. After completing the final checklist and enjoying lunch, our safari will depart Lake Nakuru for the return journey to Nairobi.
