Book a 2-day luxury Lake Nakuru photo safari from Nairobi with private game drives, expert wildlife guidance and an elegant lodge experience.
Created for travellers who want comfort without missing the best wildlife moments, this 2-day luxury Lake Nakuru photographic safari combines private road transfers, carefully timed game drives and an elegant lodge stay. You will travel approximately 160 kilometres from Nairobi in a comfortable 4x4 safari vehicle before entering Lake Nakuru National Park for an afternoon photography drive. Our guide will position the vehicle thoughtfully whenever conditions allow, giving you opportunities to photograph rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, baboons and colourful birdlife. After a peaceful night at a luxury lodge, you will return to the park during the soft morning light before driving back to Nairobi.
Our guide will collect you from your Nairobi hotel, residence or an agreed meeting point at approximately 7:00 a.m. You will travel about 160 kilometres to Lake Nakuru, a drive of roughly three and a half to four hours depending on traffic. Along the way, there will be opportunities to enjoy views of the Great Rift Valley and take a short photography break at a suitable viewpoint. After arriving, you will check into your luxury lodge, enjoy lunch and have time to prepare your camera equipment. At around 3:30 p.m., you will begin your afternoon photographic game drive. Our guide will use natural light, animal movement and safe positioning to help you capture rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, primates and lake birds. The drive normally continues until about 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
You will wake at approximately 5:45 a.m. and enjoy tea or coffee before entering the park at around 6:15 a.m. The cooler morning hours offer gentle light and a good chance of observing animals before the park becomes warmer. Our guide will explore woodland, open grassland, lakeshore viewpoints and rocky areas while allowing reasonable time for photography. You may encounter white or black rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, waterbucks, buffaloes, zebras, lions and numerous bird species, although every sighting remains natural and cannot be guaranteed. After approximately three hours in the park, you will return for a relaxed breakfast, freshen up and check out at around 10:30 a.m. The return drive to Nairobi includes a lunch stop, with arrival generally between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. Drop-off can be arranged at a Nairobi hotel, residence or the airport when flight timing allows.
