Book a 2-day luxury road safari from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru with private 4x4 transfers, premium lodging and morning and afternoon game drives.
Experience Kenya’s Great Rift Valley by road on this private 2-day luxury safari from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park. The journey covers approximately 160 kilometres each way in a comfortable safari-prepared 4x4, with time for scenic stops and personal assistance from our professional guide. After lunch and relaxation at your luxury lodge, you will enter the park for an afternoon game drive across woodland, open grassland and lakeshore habitats. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its rhino conservation, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, baboons and diverse birdlife. An early game drive on the second morning completes the experience before your relaxed return to Nairobi.
Our guide will collect you from your Nairobi hotel, residence or agreed pickup point at approximately 7:00 a.m. After a private briefing and luggage assistance, you will begin the 160-kilometre road journey toward Lake Nakuru, usually taking three and a half to four hours. A brief stop at a Great Rift Valley viewpoint may be included for refreshments and photographs. You will reach your luxury lodge around lunchtime, complete check-in and enjoy a freshly prepared meal followed by time to rest. At approximately 3:30 p.m., our guide will take you into Lake Nakuru National Park for an afternoon game drive. You will explore productive wildlife areas while searching for rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, baboons and birds. The drive normally finishes around 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and overnight at the lodge.
You will wake at approximately 5:45 a.m. and enjoy tea or coffee before leaving for a morning game drive at around 6:15 a.m. Cooler temperatures and gentle morning light can create excellent conditions for observing animals and photographing the surrounding landscapes. Our guide will explore acacia woodland, grassland, lakeshore sections and elevated viewpoints while explaining wildlife behaviour and conservation. At approximately 9:00 a.m., you will return to the lodge for breakfast, freshen up and check out by around 10:30 a.m. The drive back to Nairobi includes an appropriate lunch or refreshment stop, depending on your confirmed meal plan. Arrival is normally between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., with drop-off at a Nairobi hotel, private residence or the airport when your flight schedule allows.
