Day 1: Nairobi–Maasai Mara Road Journey and Afternoon Game Drive

Our guide will collect you from your Nairobi hotel or agreed pickup point in the morning and begin the scenic Kenya road safari toward Maasai Mara National Reserve. You will travel through the Great Rift Valley region, traditional farming areas and lively roadside towns, with scheduled comfort and photography stops along the way. After arriving at your midrange lodge or tented camp, you will check in, have lunch and prepare for an afternoon game drive. Our safari will explore the open Mara plains in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests and antelopes. You will return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 2: Maasai Mara Morning Game Drive and Road Transfer to Nairobi

You will start the day with an early game drive through Maasai Mara when the cooler conditions can bring increased wildlife activity. Our guide will examine tracks, listen for animal alarm calls and explore productive habitats while you search for predators, grazing herds and colourful birds. After the game drive, you will return for breakfast or enjoy a packed meal before checking out. Our midrange Kenya road safari will then begin the return journey to Nairobi, allowing you to see more of the countryside and stop for refreshments where appropriate. You will arrive in Nairobi later in the day for drop-off at your hotel or another agreed location.

Road conditions vary depending on the season, route and reserve entrance. Some sections may be paved, while others can be rough, dusty or muddy.

4. Can we stop at a Great Rift Valley viewpoint?

A brief viewpoint stop may be included when timing, traffic and weather conditions allow. Confirm your preferred stop before leaving Nairobi.

5. What happens if road conditions delay our arrival?

Our guide will adjust the schedule safely. The afternoon game drive may begin later or be shortened if unavoidable road or traffic delays occur.

6. Is this safari suitable for travellers affected by motion sickness?

Travellers with motion sickness should carry suitable medication after consulting a medical professional. Sitting near the front and avoiding heavy meals may also help.

7. Can we bring large suitcases in the vehicle?

Space is limited, so a soft-sided overnight bag is recommended. Arrangements can be made to store large suitcases securely in Nairobi.

8. Are refreshments available during the road journey?

Refreshment and bathroom stops can be made at suitable locations. Carrying drinking water and a few personal snacks is recommended.

9. Can we request pickup outside central Nairobi?

Pickup from other locations may be arranged depending on distance and timing. An additional transfer charge could apply for locations outside the standard pickup area.

10. Can this road safari end in Naivasha or Nakuru?

Yes. A different drop-off point or an extended road itinerary can be organized, but the driving schedule and additional cost must be confirmed in advance.
