Capture predators, elephant herds and golden savannah landscapes during a private premium photography safari.

Our 2-Day Premium Maasai Mara Photography Safari from Nairobi is created for travellers who want to photograph Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserve within a short but carefully organised itinerary. Your private road journey covers approximately 260–280 kilometres, depending on the selected reserve gate and accommodation, and normally takes five and a half to six and a half hours with a breakfast or comfort stop. After arriving at your premium lodge or luxury tented camp, you will enjoy lunch and a short rest before an afternoon photography drive across open grasslands, riverine woodland and rolling savannah. The following morning offers another game drive during the cooler hours when predators and grazing wildlife may be active. Our professional driver-guide will search for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs, hippos and birds while allowing reasonable time for observation, camera settings and composition. A private safari vehicle, premium accommodation and an unhurried game-viewing pace make this package ideal for professional photographers, content creators and enthusiastic beginners.

RELATED FAQS ABOUT 2 Days Premium Maasai Mara Photography Safari from Nairobi

    1. Is this package suitable for professional wildlife photographers?

Yes. The private safari vehicle gives photographers more room for cameras and allows greater flexibility when deciding how long to remain at suitable sightings. Our guide will consider available light, road position, animal behaviour and background without disturbing wildlife.

    2. Can beginners join the photography safari?

Yes. The tour is suitable for guests using professional cameras, entry-level cameras, compact cameras or smartphones. Previous wildlife photography experience is not required, and our guide will help you identify comfortable observation positions.

    3. Which camera lenses should I bring?

A telephoto lens such as 100–400 mm is useful for predators, birds and distant animals. A wider lens is valuable for landscapes, large wildlife groups and environmental photographs of the Mara plains. Extra batteries and memory cards are strongly recommended.

    4. Is the safari vehicle private?

Yes. The premium package is organised as a private safari unless your final confirmation clearly states otherwise. A private vehicle provides more flexibility and reduces competition for suitable photography positions.

    5. Are Big Five sightings guaranteed?

No. The reserve supports all members of the Big Five, but wildlife moves naturally. Lions, elephants and buffaloes may be easier to locate than leopards and rhinos, particularly during a short itinerary.

    6. Can we see the Great Migration?

Migration sightings depend on the travel period, rainfall, grass conditions and natural herd movement. Travelling during the migration season may improve the opportunity, but river crossings and specific herd locations cannot be guaranteed.

    7. Can the guide drive off-road for photographs?

Your guide must follow the regulations applying to the section of the reserve or conservancy being visited. The vehicle will never damage vegetation or disturb wildlife simply to create a photograph.

    8. What clothing should photographers wear?

Comfortable neutral-coloured clothing, closed shoes, a hat, sun protection and a warm morning layer are recommended. A scarf, cleaning cloth and camera cover are useful because the Mara can become dusty.

    9. What happens if it rains?

Game drives normally continue when roads remain safe. Rain can create dramatic skies and interesting wildlife behaviour, although our driver may adjust the route when certain tracks become difficult to use.

    10. Can the safari be extended?

Yes. Adding one or more nights creates more opportunities for predator behaviour, landscapes and different wildlife areas. The package can also continue to Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha or Amboseli.
