Our 2-Day Premium New Year Amboseli Kenya Safari provides a memorable way to close one year or begin the next among elephant herds, open plains and the landscapes of southern Kenya. Starting from Nairobi, you will travel about 215 kilometres to Amboseli in a private safari vehicle, with the transfer normally taking four to five hours depending on festive traffic and comfort stops. After arriving at your premium lodge or luxury tented camp, you will enjoy lunch and an afternoon game drive in search of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles and birds. Travellers visiting on December 31 may enjoy a special dinner, music, decorations or a countdown when these services are offered by the selected lodge. The following morning, you can welcome the year with a sunrise wildlife drive before breakfast and the journey back to Nairobi. Early booking is essential because holiday accommodation, gala dinners and private vehicles are limited.

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli New Year Escape

Private Holiday Departure

At approximately 6:30 AM, our guide will collect you from your Nairobi hotel, residence or agreed location. After arranging your luggage, you will begin the private journey toward Amboseli.

New Year Road Journey

Between 6:45 AM and 11:30 AM, you will travel about 215 kilometres through southern Kenya with a planned comfort and refreshment stop. Festive-season traffic may influence the exact arrival time.

Premium Lodge Celebration

At around 11:30 AM, you will check into your premium lodge or luxury camp and enjoy lunch. When travelling on December 31, the guide will confirm the lodge’s official New Year dinner and evening programme.

Final Safari of the Year

From approximately 3:00 PM to 6:15 PM, you will enter Amboseli National Park for a private afternoon game drive. You will search for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and birds before returning for dinner and the confirmed evening celebration.

Day 2: New Year Morning Safari and Nairobi

First Wildlife Drive of the Year

At around 6:00 AM, you will begin the New Year with a sunrise game drive across Amboseli’s plains and wetlands. Our guide will search for elephant families and active wildlife in the cooler morning conditions.

New Year Breakfast

At approximately 9:15 AM, you will return to the premium lodge for breakfast. You will have time to relax, freshen up and organise your luggage before completing check-out.

Drive-In Return to Nairobi

From around 10:45 AM, you will travel back to Nairobi with a lunch or refreshment stop. New Year traffic may affect arrival, and final drop-off will be provided at your agreed destination.
