Welcome the year on a 2-day premium New Year Maasai Mara safari with private game drives, luxury lodging, lions and elephants.
Our 2-Day Premium New Year Maasai Mara Safari offers a memorable way to close one year or begin the next among Kenyaβs famous wildlife and golden plains. Starting from Nairobi, you will travel approximately 260β280 kilometres in a private safari vehicle, with the road journey normally taking five and a half to six and a half hours depending on festive traffic, road conditions and lodge location. After arriving at your premium lodge or luxury camp, you will enjoy lunch and an afternoon safari in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs and birds. Travellers visiting on December 31 may enjoy a special dinner, music, decorations or a countdown when offered by the confirmed lodge. The following morning, you can begin the New Year with a sunrise wildlife drive before breakfast and the return to Nairobi. Early booking is essential because holiday accommodation, special dinners and private vehicles are limited.
Private Holiday Departure
At approximately 5:30 AM, our guide will collect you from your Nairobi hotel, residence or agreed pickup point. After arranging your luggage, you will begin the private journey toward the Maasai Mara.
New Year Road Journey
Between 6:00 AM and 11:30 AM, you will travel through the Great Rift Valley and Narok with a planned breakfast or comfort stop. Festive traffic may influence the exact arrival time.

At around 12:00 PM, you will check into your premium lodge or luxury camp and enjoy lunch. From approximately 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, our guide will search for lions, elephants, buffaloes and giraffes before you return for dinner and any confirmed New Year programme.
Sunrise New Year Safari
At around 6:00 AM, you will begin the year with a cooler morning game drive across the Mara plains. Our guide will search for predators, elephants and grazing wildlife during the softer morning light.
New Year Breakfast and Nairobi Return
At approximately 9:15 AM, you will return for breakfast, relax and complete check-out. From around 10:30 AM, you will travel back to Nairobi with a meal or refreshment stop before final drop-off.

A countdown or entertainment programme is included only when offered by the selected lodge and confirmed in your package. Some properties provide a quiet dinner instead of a large celebration.

Many premium lodges offer a gala dinner or special menu, but compulsory supplements may apply. The meal plan and charges will be stated in the final quotation.

The drive normally begins around sunrise. Guests attending a late celebration may request a later departure, but this may reduce cooler morning wildlife-viewing time.

9. How early should the package be booked?
Early booking is strongly recommended because premium lodges, special dinners and private safari vehicles may be reserved well before the festive season.
10. Can we continue to another destination?
Yes. The safari may continue to Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, Amboseli, Diani Beach or another Kenya destination as part of a longer New Year holiday.
