Enjoy a 2-day Nairobi-to-Amboseli luxury road safari with private game drives, premium lodging, elephants and possible Kilimanjaro views.
Travel from Nairobi into the heart of elephant country on this private 2-day luxury Amboseli road safari. The drive introduces you to Kenya’s changing scenery as busy urban surroundings gradually give way to small towns, open countryside and the expansive plains near Amboseli. After arriving at your selected luxury lodge or tented camp, you will explore the national park during an afternoon game drive and return the following morning for another wildlife experience. Our guide will search for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, lions, cheetahs and abundant birdlife. When weather conditions are clear, Mount Kilimanjaro may provide a spectacular background to the park’s wildlife and landscapes.
Our guide will collect you from your Nairobi hotel, residence or agreed meeting point at approximately 6:30 a.m. After loading your luggage and providing a short briefing, you will begin the 230–250-kilometre road journey toward Amboseli National Park. The drive normally takes four and a half to five and a half hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. A comfort and refreshment stop will be arranged en route, while our guide introduces the landscapes and communities found along the journey. You will reach your luxury lodge or tented camp around lunchtime, complete check-in and enjoy lunch followed by time to relax. At approximately 3:30 p.m., you will begin an afternoon game drive across Amboseli’s open plains, woodland and wetland habitats. You will return to the lodge at about 6:30 p.m. for refreshments, dinner and overnight.
You will receive a wake-up call at approximately 5:30 a.m. and have tea or coffee before departing at around 6:00 a.m. The early drive offers cooler conditions, soft photography light and another opportunity to observe elephants and other animals as they move between feeding and watering areas. Our guide will follow suitable park routes based on tracks, current wildlife activity and recent sightings. When the sky is clear, you may stop at a viewpoint offering Mount Kilimanjaro scenery. You will return to the lodge at approximately 9:00 a.m. for breakfast, freshen up and check out by around 10:30 a.m. The return drive includes a lunch or refreshment stop, with arrival in Nairobi expected between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. Drop-off can be provided at your hotel, residence or airport when your flight departure allows enough connection time.
