Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our driver will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. The drive takes about 1 hour and covers 50 kilometers. Arusha is often lively with a festive atmosphere in December. This day is for resting and receiving a briefing for your 2-day Tanzania Christmas holiday safari to Lake Manyara & Tarangire. You can enjoy a festive dinner at your lodge while preparing for your journey to see the African wildlife the following morning in the green parks.

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

The tour departs Arusha at 8:00 AM for a 130-kilometer drive (2.5 hours) to Lake Manyara. During this 2-day Christmas holiday safari in Tanzania, you will see the park looking fresh and vibrant. A positive and unexpected moment often happens when you see baby baboons playing in the groundwater forest, which is very lush in December. You will search for tree-climbing lions and flamingos before heading to your lodge. The evening is spent enjoying a festive atmosphere and local hospitality in the highlands.
