2 Days Trip Kilimanjaro Trekking via Marangu Route

Your trek begins at the Marangu Gate, located at an altitude of approximately 1,860 meters (6,100 feet). You'll register with the park authorities and meet your guide and porters. From the gate, you'll trek through a dense rainforest, which is rich in vegetation and wildlife. The trek to Mandara Hut takes around 4-6 hours, covering a distance of about 9 kilometers (5.5 miles). Mandara Hut is situated at an altitude of 2,700 meters (8,858 feet). It offers basic accommodation facilities, including bunk beds and communal dining areas. You'll have dinner and spend the night here.

After breakfast at Mandara Hut, you'll continue your trek towards the Horombo Hut. The trek covers a distance of approximately 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) and takes about 5-7 hours. As you ascend, the vegetation changes from rainforest to moorland. You'll have the chance to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Upon reaching Horombo Hut, situated at an altitude of 3,720 meters (12,204 feet), you'll have a short break for lunch. After lunch, you'll descend back to the Marangu Gate, which takes around 5-6 hours. At the gate, you'll receive your summit certificates and say goodbye to your guide and porters.
