Book a 3-day midrange solo traveler safari from Nairobi to Samburu with comfortable accommodation, personal guiding and rewarding wildlife drives.
Travel from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve on a three-day midrange solo traveler safari offering comfortable accommodation, personal guiding and flexible wildlife viewing. Our guide will accompany you throughout the drive-in, drive-out journey while helping you discover elephants, big cats, rare birds and the Samburu Special Five across northern Kenyaβs dramatic semi-arid landscapes.
Your 3-day midrange solo traveler Samburu safari begins when our guide collects you from your Nairobi hotel or another agreed location. You will travel approximately 320–350 km in about 6–7 hours through cultivated highland farmland, central Kenya’s rural landscapes and increasingly dry northern scrub before reaching Samburu’s acacia woodland and open savannah. After lunch and check-in at your comfortable midrange lodge or tented camp, our safari continues with a 2–3-hour afternoon game drive. You will search for elephants, Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, gerenuks and big cats while enjoying the flexibility available to an independent traveller.
You will begin with a 3–4-hour morning game drive through Samburu’s dry grassland, acacia bush, rocky outcrops and riverine forest bordering the Ewaso Ng’iro River. Our guide will help you identify the Samburu Special Five and explain the behaviour of elephants, predators and northern bird species. After returning to your midrange accommodation for breakfast, lunch and rest, you will take another approximately 3-hour afternoon drive through doum-palm groves and open savannah. The two game drives may cover approximately 50–80 km, depending on wildlife movements, road conditions and your preferred safari pace.
You will take a final 2–3-hour morning game drive covering approximately 20–35 km through thorn scrub, acacia woodland and riverine vegetation. Our guide will revisit productive wildlife locations while helping you capture final photographs and enjoy the peaceful morning atmosphere. After breakfast, you will travel approximately 320–350 km back to Nairobi. The drive takes about 6–7 hours through semi-arid northern landscapes, fertile highlands and agricultural countryside before your final drop-off.
