Our 3-Day Premium Amboseli Christmas Wildlife Retreat offers couples, families and friends a memorable festive escape in southern Kenya. The private road journey from Nairobi covers about 215 kilometres and normally takes four to five hours, although Christmas traffic may influence the schedule. After arriving at your premium lodge or luxury camp, you will enjoy lunch and the property’s festive atmosphere before an afternoon game drive. The second day includes a full-day Amboseli safari with a picnic lunch, providing time to search for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, predators and birds. Your final morning offers another wildlife drive before breakfast and the return to Nairobi. Christmas decorations, special meals, music, children’s activities or entertainment depend on the confirmed lodge programme. Premium accommodation and private vehicles are in high demand during the festive season, so early reservation is strongly recommended.

Day 1: Christmas Journey to Amboseli

Festive Nairobi Departure

At approximately 6:00 AM in Nairobi, our driver-guide will collect you from your confirmed location and welcome you to the Christmas safari. Luggage and festive gifts will be secured before departure.

Christmas Lodge Arrival

At around 11:30 AM in the Amboseli area, you will check into your premium lodge or luxury camp and enjoy lunch. Decorations, music or family activities may be available according to the property’s festive programme.

Christmas Afternoon Safari

From approximately 3:00 PM to 6:15 PM inside Amboseli National Park, our guide will search for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and birds. You will return to the lodge for dinner and any confirmed Christmas evening activities.

Day 2: Full-Day Festive Wildlife Safari

Christmas-Season Morning Drive

At around 6:00 AM inside Amboseli National Park, you will begin a full-day wildlife safari during the cooler hours. Our guide will search for active elephant families and other wildlife across the plains and wetlands.

Festive Picnic Lunch

At approximately 12:30 PM at an authorised picnic site, you will enjoy a packed lunch and a peaceful break. Families and couples can relax before continuing the afternoon game drive.

Afternoon Elephant Experience

From around 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM inside Amboseli, our guide will continue exploring wetlands, woodland and open plains. You will return for a festive dinner or the lodge’s confirmed evening programme.

Final Festive Game Drive

At approximately 6:00 AM inside Amboseli National Park, you will enjoy a final holiday-season safari before the park becomes busier. Our guide will search for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and birds.

Christmas Breakfast and Check-Out

At around 9:15 AM at your premium lodge, you will return for breakfast and any confirmed morning activities. You will then organise your luggage and complete check-out.

Festive Return to Nairobi

From approximately 10:30 AM, our guide will drive you about 215 kilometres back to Nairobi. A meal or refreshment stop will be arranged, although holiday traffic may affect the final arrival time.
