RELATED FAQS ABOUT 3 Days Premium Samburu Northern Frontier Drive

    1. What makes this a northern frontier drive?

The package gives special attention to the changing landscapes between Nairobi and Samburu. You will pass through central Kenya toward the drier northern region, observing changes in farming, vegetation, settlement and terrain before reaching the reserve.

    2. How long is the road journey?

The drive usually takes six to seven hours in each direction. The exact duration depends on the Nairobi pickup location, traffic, road conditions, lodge location and the number of meal or comfort stops.

    3. Is the safari vehicle private?

Yes. The package is organised with a private safari vehicle unless your final confirmation states otherwise. Private transportation allows more flexibility with breaks, luggage, photography and game-drive pacing.

    4. Is the long journey comfortable?

The route includes breakfast, refreshment and comfort stops at suitable facilities. Travelling in a private vehicle also allows reasonable adjustments when guests need a short additional break.

    5. What wildlife can we expect in Samburu?

Possible sightings include elephants, lions, leopards, Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, gerenuks, Beisa oryx, Somali ostriches, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas and many birds.

    6. Are the Samburu Special Five guaranteed?

No. Samburu provides good opportunities to search for the Special Five, but the animals move freely. Their location depends on water, vegetation, weather and natural movement.

    7. Why are Day 2 game drives separated?

Samburu is often warm during the middle of the day. Morning and afternoon drives allow you to explore during productive wildlife periods while enjoying breakfast, lunch and rest at the lodge.

    8. Are meals included?

Meals are included according to the confirmed accommodation plan. The standard arrangement normally provides lunch and dinner on Day 1, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Day 2, and breakfast on Day 3.

    9. Can the safari begin or end at the airport?

Yes, when the flight schedule provides sufficient time for immigration, luggage collection, road travel or airline check-in. Flight details must be provided before confirmation.

    10. Can we continue to another reserve?

Yes. The safari may continue to Buffalo Springs, Shaba, Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru or Masai Mara. Additional travel time, accommodation and reserve fees will apply.
