Road distance: Roughly 310–325 km
Transfer time: Normally 5–6 hours without prolonged stops
Initial attractions: Roadside birdlife, dry-country habitats, Ewaso Ng’iro woodland and afternoon wildlife

Our birding journey begins with collection from Nairobi and a scenic drive north through contrasting agricultural and semi-arid regions. You may notice changes in birdlife as the habitat becomes progressively drier toward Isiolo and Samburu. After arriving at your luxury lodge or camp, you will enjoy lunch and prepare binoculars, cameras and checklists. The afternoon birding drive will concentrate on habitats around the river, woodland and open scrub. You may identify hornbills, starlings, raptors, rollers and water-associated species while also encountering elephants, giraffes and antelopes.
