Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), a driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. This 50-kilometer drive takes about one hour. The tour begins with a 3-hour drive (180 km) from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will spend the day on the crater floor, which is a paradise for bird lovers. The alkaline Lake Magadi attracts thousands of Lesser Flamingos, creating a pink hue on the water. You will also look for the Kori Bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird, and the Grey Crowned Crane. A positive and unexpected moment often occurs at the picnic site, where Rufous-tailed Weavers might land nearby to scavenge.
