3-day luxury offroad safari exploring remote Serengeti wildlife areas and Ngorongoro Crater.
This safari is designed for adventurous travelers who want to explore the wild side of Serengeti beyond the main tourist tracks. With experienced guides and specially equipped safari vehicles, guests travel through remote plains and wildlife-rich areas where incredible animal encounters happen away from crowds.
Your journey begins upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport where your professional safari guide warmly welcomes you to Tanzania. After a short briefing, you will begin the scenic transfer to Arusha town located about 50 kilometers away, a journey that takes roughly one hour. Along the way you will pass coffee farms, small villages, and beautiful landscapes dominated by the impressive slopes of Mount Meru. Upon arrival at your lodge, guests can relax in the peaceful surroundings after their flight while enjoying the cool mountain climate. In the evening your guide will provide an introduction to the safari ahead and explain how off-road exploration in Serengeti allows travelers to reach wildlife areas rarely visited by ordinary vehicles.

After breakfast depart Arusha and begin the exciting journey toward Serengeti National Park, traveling approximately 335 kilometers through the scenic Ngorongoro highlands. The route offers spectacular views of forests, valleys, and Maasai pastoral lands before opening into the endless plains of Serengeti. Once inside the park your guide begins an adventurous off-road exploration in selected wildlife areas where possible, tracking animal movements away from the main roads. This increases the chance of encountering wildlife such as lions resting near kopjes, elephants moving across the plains, and large herds of zebras and wildebeest. The vast landscapes of Serengeti create a feeling of true wilderness as the sun slowly sets over the golden savannah. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

During the day you may encounter elephants, buffalo, giraffes, hyenas, and thousands of grazing antelopes across the plains. 3-day luxury offroad safari exploring remote Serengeti wildlife areas and Ngorongoro Crater.
N.B: After you send your booking we will get back to you with in 24 hours.
Can we go off-road in the Serengeti or Ngorongoro Crater?
No. Off-road driving is strictly illegal in Tanzania’s National Parks and the Ngorongoro Crater floor. For a true off-road experience, we stay in private concessions bordering these parks, which offer the same wildlife but with the freedom to leave the track.
What are the benefits of an off-road safari?
It allows you to follow a predator (like a leopard or wild dog) into the bush, get closer to a sighting without other vehicles, and reach remote "sundowner" spots that are inaccessible to the general public.
Is off-roading harmful to the environment?
In luxury private concessions, off-roading is carefully managed. Guides follow strict "tread light" protocols, avoiding sensitive soils and rare plants to ensure the ecosystem remains pristine.
Do I need a special type of vehicle?
Yes. These safaris use modified luxury 4x4 Land Cruisers with heavy-duty suspension, high clearance, and specialized tires designed to handle uneven terrain while maintaining a smooth ride for guests.
How much "bumping" should I expect?
While the vehicles are top-tier, leaving the road involves driving over uneven grass and bush. It is more adventurous than a standard drive, but the slow pace and high-quality seats ensure it remains a luxury experience.
Will I see more animals if we go off-road?
You won't necessarily see more animals, but you will see them better. Being able to follow a lion pride as they move through the tall grass provides a much deeper and more intimate viewing experience.
Is it safe to drive through the bush without a road?
Completely. Our guides are experts in "bush-bashing" and navigation. They are trained to read the terrain for hidden holes or soft sand and are always in radio contact with the lodge.
Can we do night drives as part of an off-road safari?
Yes! Most private concessions that allow off-roading also allow night game drives, combining the thrill of the dark with the ability to track nocturnal hunters off the beaten path.
What kind of luxury lodges offer this?
We partner with elite properties like Singita, Chem Chem, and Mwiba Lodge, which are located on massive private tracts of land and specialize in exclusive, off-track experiences.
Is this suitable for a 3-day trip?
Yes, provided you fly-in. By taking a bush plane directly to a private airstrip, you maximize your time off-road rather than spending hours on the main highways.
