3 Days Tanzania Luxury Safari in April

Your safari adventure begins upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport where your guide warmly welcomes you before beginning the transfer to Arusha town located about 50 kilometers away, a journey that takes roughly one hour. Along the way you will pass coffee plantations, small villages, and scenic views of Mount Meru rising above the city skyline. April is part of Tanzania’s beautiful green season, so the landscapes around Arusha are vibrant with fresh vegetation. After arriving at your lodge you can relax and recover from your journey while enjoying the peaceful environment. In the evening your guide will provide a briefing about the upcoming safari through Serengeti and Ngorongoro.

After breakfast depart Arusha early in the morning and begin the journey toward Serengeti National Park, traveling approximately 335 kilometers through the spectacular Ngorongoro Highlands. April’s lush green scenery makes the drive especially beautiful as rolling hills and open valleys stretch across the horizon. Upon entering Serengeti your afternoon game drive begins across the endless plains. Wildlife sightings often include giraffes, elephants, zebras, gazelles, and predators such as lions resting on rocky kopjes. The fresh grass during this season attracts large herbivore herds which in turn attract predators. As the sun begins to set across the plains you will continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Today you will spend the entire day exploring Serengeti’s incredible wildlife ecosystem. Early morning game drives often reveal lions, cheetahs, and hyenas while large herds of wildebeest and zebras graze across the plains. In April the landscape is beautifully green, making wildlife photography especially stunning. Around midday enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness, surrounded by the open savannah and distant acacia trees. During the afternoon game drive you may also see elephants, buffalo, and numerous bird species that thrive in Serengeti’s diverse habitats.

After breakfast depart Serengeti and travel approximately 150 kilometers toward the famous Ngorongoro Crater. Descend around 600 meters into this volcanic caldera covering about 260 square kilometers where wildlife density is incredibly high. During the game drive you may encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, hippos, and flamingos around the crater lake. After enjoying a picnic lunch near the hippo pool begin the return journey to Arusha covering about 180 kilometers through the scenic highlands.
