As you descend into Serengeti, the terrain opens into vast golden plains dotted with acacia trees and rocky kopjes, creating a classic African safari setting. Upon entering the park, you will begin your afternoon game drive, where wildlife sightings may include zebras, giraffes, elephants, and lions moving across the dry savannah. June is ideal for wildlife viewing as animals begin concentrating near water sources, making sightings more frequent and predictable. After breakfast, you will depart Serengeti and drive approximately 150 kilometers toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, you will descend about 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder covering approximately 260 square kilometers and home to a dense population of wildlife. During your game drive, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, hippos, flamingos, and possibly the endangered black rhino, making it one of the best locations to see the Big Five. The crater’s enclosed ecosystem allows for consistent and rewarding wildlife viewing. After enjoying a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, you will begin your return journey to Arusha, covering approximately 180 kilometers through scenic highlands and rural landscapes. You will arrive in the late afternoon or early evening.
