Book a 4-day solo traveller midrange safari from Nairobi to Maasai Mara with guided game drives, secure transport and comfortable accommodation.
Travel confidently and independently on this 4-Day Independent Explorer Midrange Safari to Maasai Mara from Nairobi. This solo traveller package provides the freedom of travelling alone together with the reassurance of professional transport, organised accommodation and an experienced safari guide. You will enjoy an afternoon game drive followed by two full days exploring different habitats within the Maasai Mara. The package can be booked privately for maximum flexibility or on a shared departure when available. Our guide will help with luggage, daily briefings, wildlife photography and practical arrangements while allowing you enough personal space to enjoy your own safari journey.
Your solo traveller safari begins with a personal pickup from your Nairobi hotel, airport or agreed location. You will travel approximately 270 kilometres to Maasai Mara, taking around 5½ to 6½ hours depending on road and traffic conditions. The journey crosses the Great Rift Valley escarpment, agricultural highlands, rural centres, pastoral land and open savannah. Our guide will provide a clear briefing and include practical stops along the route. After lunch and check-in at your midrange accommodation, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive lasting approximately 2½ to 3 hours and covering around 25 to 45 kilometres through grassland, acacia-dotted plains and seasonal water channels.
After breakfast, you will leave with packed lunch for a game drive lasting approximately 8 to 10 hours and covering around 80 to 120 kilometres. Our guide will explore open savannah, riverine woodland, marshland, short-grass plains and acacia zones while searching for lions, elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife. A private solo safari allows you to decide which sightings deserve more time, while a shared departure creates opportunities to meet other travellers. You will enjoy lunch at a designated picnic location before continuing with afternoon wildlife viewing.
Your second full day in the reserve will also last approximately 8 to 10 hours and may cover around 70 to 110 kilometres. Our guide will adapt the journey to your interests where possible, whether you prefer predators, birdlife, photography, landscapes or general wildlife viewing. You may explore river corridors, rolling grasslands, wooded sections, marshes and quieter grazing zones. Your safari will include a picnic lunch and several observation stops before returning to the lodge or camp in the evening.
Following breakfast, you will check out and travel approximately 270 kilometres back to Nairobi, taking around 5½ to 6½ hours. The route passes from open savannah and pastoral country through farming areas, escarpment scenery and Nairobi’s outer suburbs. Our guide will include suitable comfort stops and ensure you reach your confirmed drop-off location safely. Depending on your onward arrangements, you may be dropped at a hotel, airport or another agreed point in Nairobi.
