This festive journey begins in Nairobi and includes scenic road transfers, guided wildlife drives and comfortable midrange accommodation. You will explore Samburu’s dramatic northern landscapes, search for rare species and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the wilderness before travelling to Ol Pejeta for rhinos, chimpanzees and conservation experiences. New Year meals, countdown celebrations or room arrangements may be requested from the selected lodge, subject to availability.

Our guide will meet you in Nairobi and begin your New Year safari package through central and northern Kenya. During the road journey, you will experience changing landscapes before arriving at your midrange accommodation in Samburu. After lunch and a short rest, you will enter the reserve for an afternoon game drive. Your first sightings may include elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and predators preparing for the evening.

Game-Drive Time: Approximately 5–7 hours with a festive break
Places Visited: Ewaso Nyiro River, Samburu Plains and acacia habitats
Your New Year morning begins with a wildlife drive through Samburu’s open plains and riverine areas. Our guide will search for rare northern species and explain the reserve’s ecosystem. After returning to the lodge, you will enjoy breakfast, relaxation and any New Year celebration organised by the property. In the afternoon, your safari continues with another game drive before you return for dinner and the evening programme.

After a morning wildlife drive, you will leave Samburu and travel towards Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Our journey will pass through Isiolo and the Mount Kenya region before reaching your midrange accommodation. You will have time to settle in and relax after the road transfer. Depending on the schedule, you may join a short evening game drive or enjoy the lodge surroundings.
Game-Drive Distance: Approximately 40–60 kilometres
Road Distance: Approximately 220 kilometres
Driving Time: Approximately 4–5 hours
Places Visited: Ol Pejeta, rhino conservation areas, chimpanzee sanctuary area and Nairobi
You will begin the final day with breakfast followed by a game drive through Ol Pejeta. Our guide will help you search for rhinos, lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras and other wildlife. You may also visit the chimpanzee sanctuary zone when access is available. After completing your wildlife experience, your New Year package in Kenya concludes with a return drive to Nairobi.

Yes. Travel dates can be arranged to include December 31 and January 1.
2. Do lodges organise a countdown celebration?
Some lodges arrange dinners, music or countdown activities. These must be confirmed before booking.
3. Is a special New Year dinner included?
A festive meal may be offered by the lodge, but the exact programme depends on the selected property.
4. Is January a good month for safari?
Yes. Wildlife viewing is available, although conditions vary according to rainfall and animal movement.
5. Can couples book the package privately?
Yes. A private vehicle, romantic room setup and special dinner can be arranged.
6. Is the package suitable for families?
Yes. Family rooms and child-friendly meal arrangements may be requested.
7. How early should we reserve?
New Year is a popular period, so early booking is recommended.
8. Can we add Maasai Mara after Ol Pejeta?
Yes. The itinerary can be extended to Maasai Mara or another destination.
9. Are fireworks allowed in the reserves?
Fireworks may be restricted because of wildlife and safety regulations. Lodge rules must be followed.
10. What is required to confirm the safari?
