Book a 4-day Kenya safari with midrange lodges from Nairobi to Maasai Mara and Lake Naivasha, including game drives, boating and a guided walk.
Discover two Great Rift Valley destinations on a four-day Kenya safari from Nairobi featuring carefully selected midrange lodges and tented camps. Our guide will lead you through Maasai Maraβs wildlife-rich savannah before continuing to Lake Naivasha for a boat safari and Crescent Island nature walk, creating a comfortable combination of big-game viewing and lakeside exploration.
Our guide will collect you from Nairobi and drive approximately 260–280 km to Maasai Mara in about 5–6 hours. The journey passes through highland farmland, Great Rift Valley scenery and rural grasslands before entering the Mara’s open savannah and acacia woodland. After lunch and check-in at your selected midrange lodge or tented camp, our safari continues with a 2–3-hour afternoon game drive in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, cheetahs and other wildlife.
After breakfast, you will spend approximately 7–9 hours exploring Maasai Mara’s grasslands, acacia woodland, riverine forest and seasonal wetlands. Our guide will search for big cats, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and grazing herds while explaining the reserve’s wildlife and habitats. Approximately 80–120 km may be covered depending on animal movements. You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the reserve before continuing the game drive and returning to your midrange accommodation.
You will leave Maasai Mara after breakfast and travel approximately 230–250 km to Lake Naivasha in around 5–6 hours. The landscape changes from open savannah and acacia bush to cultivated Rift Valley farmland, volcanic scenery and papyrus-fringed lakeshore habitat. After arriving, you will check into your midrange Lake Naivasha lodge and have the remaining time to enjoy the property’s surroundings.
You will begin with an approximately 1-hour Lake Naivasha boat safari covering around 5–10 km of open water and papyrus-lined shoreline. You may observe hippos, fish eagles, pelicans, cormorants and kingfishers. A guided Crescent Island walk will then take approximately 1½–2 hours and cover about 2–4 km through grassland and acacia woodland inhabited by giraffes, zebras and antelopes. Afterwards, our guide will drive you approximately 90–100 km to Nairobi in about 2–2½ hours.
