Our friendly driver-guide will collect your family from Nairobi and assist with luggage before beginning the drive to the Maasai Mara. Comfort and washroom stops will be arranged when needed, helping younger and older family members travel more easily. After arriving at your luxury lodge or tented camp, you will enjoy lunch and settle into your family room or suite. Your afternoon game drive will introduce the children to elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelopes and possible predators. The guide will encourage questions and explain animal behaviour in an enjoyable way before returning the family to the lodge for dinner.

Day 2: Full-Day Family Wildlife Safari in Maasai Mara

Full-Day Family Wildlife Safari in Maasai Mara

Estimated game-drive route: Approximately 50–90 kilometres
Safari duration: About 7–8 hours with breaks and picnic lunch
Family attractions: Lion prides, elephants, cheetahs, wildebeest, animal tracks and conservation lessons

After breakfast, your family will leave with a picnic lunch for a full day inside the reserve. The private vehicle makes it possible to spend longer with favourite animals, include reasonable breaks or adjust the activity if children become tired. Your guide will search for lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes and grazing herds while explaining food chains, family behaviour and conservation. Lunch will be enjoyed at an authorised location before the afternoon safari continues. You will return to the lodge for dinner and family relaxation.

After breakfast, the family will check out and travel toward Lake Naivasha. The journey provides views of farms, highlands and Rift Valley landscapes, with suitable comfort stops along the way. On arrival, you will check in at a luxury family-friendly lodge and enjoy lunch or refreshments. The afternoon is kept relaxed so children and adults can recover from the transfer. Depending on arrival time, you may walk within the lodge grounds, watch birds or enjoy an optional short lakeside activity.

Local excursion distance: Approximately 10–25 kilometres
Return journey: Approximately 90–100 kilometres
Estimated time: About 2–3 hours of morning activity and 1½–2 hours to Nairobi
Final attractions: Hippos, fish eagles, waterbirds, giraffes, zebras and family photographs

Your family will enjoy a morning Lake Naivasha experience selected according to the ages and interests of the children. This may include a boat safari, Crescent Island walking experience or another suitable activity. Children may observe hippos from a safe distance, identify waterbirds and learn how a freshwater ecosystem differs from the Maasai Mara grasslands. After breakfast and check-out, you will drive to Nairobi for drop-off at your preferred location.
