Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara – First Family Game Drive

Family travel distance: Approximately 260–280 kilometres
Driving time: Around 5–6 hours with suitable stops
Main attractions: Great Rift Valley, elephants, giraffes, zebras and lions

Our friendly driver-guide will collect your family from Nairobi and assist with luggage before beginning the journey to the Maasai Mara. Suitable washroom, refreshment and stretching stops will be arranged along the way. After reaching your luxury lodge or tented camp, the family will check in, enjoy lunch and rest. Your afternoon game drive will introduce children to elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and possible predators. The guide will answer questions and explain wildlife behaviour in a simple and enjoyable way before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Safari duration: Approximately 7–8 hours with breaks
Family attractions: Lions, elephants, cheetahs, wildebeest and conservation learning

After breakfast, your family will depart with a picnic lunch for a full day in the reserve. The private vehicle allows the guide to include reasonable breaks and adjust the pace if children become tired. You may observe lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes and grazing herds while learning about food chains, animal families and conservation. Lunch will be enjoyed at an authorised location before further wildlife viewing. You will return to the lodge for dinner and family relaxation.

Your family will begin the day with a morning game drive inside Lake Nakuru National Park. Children may enjoy identifying rhinos, giraffes, zebras, baboons, buffaloes and different bird species. The guide will explain how Lake Nakuru’s environment differs from the Maasai Mara grasslands. After the game drive, you will begin the journey to Nairobi and receive drop-off at your preferred location.
