4 Days Midrange Honeymoon Safari from Nairobi: Mara–Naivasha

Our guide will collect you from Nairobi in a private safari vehicle for the beginning of your midrange honeymoon package. You will travel approximately 260–280 km in about 5–6 hours through Great Rift Valley scenery, highland farmland and rural landscapes before reaching Maasai Mara’s rolling grasslands and acacia woodland. After lunch and check-in at your midrange camp or lodge, you will enjoy a private 2–3-hour afternoon game drive. Our safari will search for elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetahs and plains animals as the evening light creates a beautiful setting for shared photographs.

You will spend approximately 7–9 hours exploring Maasai Mara’s open savannah, riverine forest, seasonal wetlands and acacia-dotted plains in your private vehicle. Our guide will follow wildlife activity while allowing you to experience the reserve at a relaxed and personal pace. Approximately 80–120 km may be covered while searching for big cats, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and grazing herds. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in a designated area before continuing the game drive and returning to your midrange accommodation in the evening.

After breakfast, you will travel approximately 230–250 km from Maasai Mara to Lake Naivasha in around 5–6 hours. You will leave the dry savannah and acacia bushland behind as the journey enters cultivated Rift Valley countryside, volcanic terrain and the greener lakeside vegetation of Naivasha. After checking into your midrange lakeside lodge, you can spend the afternoon relaxing together and enjoying views of papyrus reeds, acacia trees and the lake.

You will begin with a private or shared 1-hour boat safari covering approximately 5–10 km along Lake Naivasha’s papyrus-lined shoreline. You may see hippos, fish eagles, pelicans, kingfishers and cormorants while enjoying the peaceful water scenery together. A guided Crescent Island walk will then take approximately 1½–2 hours and cover about 2–4 km through grassland and acacia woodland inhabited by giraffes, zebras and antelopes. Afterwards, our guide will drive you approximately 90–100 km to Nairobi in about 2–2½ hours.
