Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara – Afternoon Wildlife Safari

Nairobi to Maasai Mara – Afternoon Wildlife Safari

Our guide will collect you from Nairobi for the approximately 260–280 km road journey to Maasai Mara, which takes about 5–6 hours. You will travel through highland farmland, Great Rift Valley escarpments and rural communities before reaching the reserve’s grassland and acacia woodland. After checking into your midrange lodge or camp, you will take a 2–3-hour afternoon game drive while searching for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras and antelopes.

Day 2: Full-Day Maasai Mara Wildlife Safari

Full-Day Maasai Mara Wildlife Safari

You will spend approximately 7–9 hours exploring Maasai Mara’s open plains, riverine forest, acacia woodland and seasonal wetlands. Our guide will explain wildlife behaviour, conservation and the historical relationship between local pastoral communities and the surrounding ecosystem. Depending on animal locations, approximately 80–120 km may be covered while searching for big cats, elephants, buffaloes and grazing herds. You will enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing the safari.

Day 3: Maasai Cultural Experience – Lake Naivasha

Maasai Cultural Experience – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, our guide will accompany you to a locally hosted Maasai cultural experience lasting approximately 1–1½ hours. With community consent, you may learn about pastoral life, traditional homes, clothing, beadwork and local customs; photography is only permitted after asking. You will then travel approximately 230–250 km to Lake Naivasha in about 5–6 hours, moving from Mara grasslands through Rift Valley farmland to papyrus-fringed lakeshore vegetation. You will check into your midrange lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha Experience – Nairobi

Lake Naivasha Experience – Nairobi

You will take an approximately 1-hour boat safari covering about 5–10 km along Lake Naivasha’s papyrus-lined shoreline while looking for hippos and waterbirds. A 1½–2-hour Crescent Island walk covering roughly 2–4 km follows through grassland and acacia woodland, where our guide will discuss the Rift Valley’s wildlife and human environment. Afterwards, you will travel approximately 90–100 km to Nairobi in about 2–2½ hours.
