Our midrange Kenya road safari begins when our driver-guide collects you from Nairobi. You will travel approximately 260–280 km in about 5–6 hours, descending through the Great Rift Valley before continuing across highland farmland, rural settlements and open grass country. After reaching Maasai Mara’s acacia-dotted savannah, you will check into your midrange camp or lodge and take a 2–3-hour afternoon game drive. Our guide will search for lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, zebras and other plains animals before sunset.

Full-Day Maasai Mara Road Game Safari

You will use your customised road-safari vehicle as a mobile viewing base during a 7–9-hour game drive across Maasai Mara. Our guide will explore approximately 80–120 km of reserve tracks, depending on wildlife locations and road conditions. The journey passes through open grassland, acacia woodland, seasonal marshes and riverine forest while searching for predators, elephants, buffaloes and large herbivore herds. You will have a picnic lunch at a designated location before continuing across another part of the reserve.

Drive from Maasai Mara to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, our drive-out journey continues approximately 230–250 km from Maasai Mara to Lake Naivasha. The transfer takes around 5–6 hours as you leave the Mara’s open grasslands and acacia scrub before crossing agricultural areas, volcanic Rift Valley scenery and the greener environment surrounding Naivasha. You will check into a comfortable midrange lakeside lodge where papyrus reeds, acacia trees and open shoreline vegetation provide a peaceful contrast to the Mara.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha Activities – Drive to Nairobi

 Lake Naivasha Activities – Drive to Nairobi

You will begin with a 1-hour Lake Naivasha boat safari covering approximately 5–10 km along open water and papyrus-lined shoreline. The boat captain will search for hippos, fish eagles, pelicans, kingfishers and cormorants while maintaining a safe distance. A 1½–2-hour Crescent Island nature walk follows, covering approximately 2–4 km through grassland and acacia woodland where giraffes, zebras and antelopes may be encountered. You will then complete the road safari with a 90–100 km drive to Nairobi lasting about 2–2½ hours.
