Book a 4-day midrange solo traveler road safari in Kenya from Nairobi to Maasai Mara and Lake Naivasha with personal guiding and lodge stays.
Travel confidently from Nairobi on a four-day midrange solo traveler safari combining Maasai Mara wildlife viewing with the peaceful environment of Lake Naivasha. Your dedicated guide will manage the road transfers, accommodation and activities while allowing you to concentrate on photography, birdwatching or general wildlife observation at your preferred pace.
Our guide will meet you at your Nairobi hotel and begin the approximately 260–280 km journey to Maasai Mara. The road transfer takes around 5–6 hours through Rift Valley escarpments, cultivated highlands and open countryside before arriving among the Mara’s grasslands and acacia woodland. After settling into your single-occupancy room at a midrange lodge or tented camp, you will take a 2–3-hour afternoon game drive. Our safari can focus on your preferred animals, photography interests or first-time wildlife experiences.
You will explore Maasai Mara for approximately 7–9 hours with your guide, covering around 70–110 km depending on wildlife locations and the time you choose to spend at each sighting. The route may pass through short-grass plains, acacia bush, riverine forest and seasonal wetlands. You will search for lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes and other species without needing to follow the interests of a large group. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the reserve.
After breakfast, our guide will drive you approximately 230–250 km from Maasai Mara to Lake Naivasha in about 5–6 hours. You will observe the landscape changing from savannah and thorn scrub to Rift Valley farms, volcanic country and the lake’s greener papyrus-and-acacia environment. After checking into your midrange lodge, you can relax independently or explore the lodge grounds for birds and lakeside views.
You will join an approximately 1-hour boat safari covering about 5–10 km along Lake Naivasha’s open water and papyrus margins. Hippos and waterbirds may be observed with guidance from the boat captain. Your 1½–2-hour Crescent Island walk will cover roughly 2–4 km through grassland and acacia woodland, with opportunities to see giraffes, zebras and antelopes. Our guide will then drive you approximately 90–100 km to Nairobi in around 2–2½ hours.
