4 Days Nairobi Educational Wildlife Safari for Students in Maasai Mara

The student safari begins in Nairobi before travelling approximately 270 kilometres to Maasai Mara, taking around 5½ to 6½ hours. The route crosses urban environments, the Great Rift Valley escarpment, highland farming zones, trading centres, pastoral land and savannah. Our guide will explain changes in land use, vegetation, altitude and settlement patterns during the journey. After lunch and check-in at the midrange lodge or camp, students will receive a safety briefing and begin a 2½ to 3-hour game drive covering around 25 to 45 kilometres through grassland, acacia woodland and seasonal drainage zones.

After breakfast, students will depart with packed lunch for an 8 to 10-hour wildlife field experience covering around 80 to 120 kilometres. Our guide will explore open plains, riverine woodland, marshes, acacia savannah and seasonal water channels. Students may observe predator-prey relationships, grazing behaviour, bird diversity, food chains, habitat use and conservation practices. Field notes, species lists and photography may be completed without disturbing wildlife or delaying the group. Lunch will be enjoyed at a designated picnic location before continuing the afternoon learning session.

Your second complete field day will last approximately 8 to 10 hours and may cover around 70 to 110 kilometres. The group will explore different habitats and compare how vegetation, water and terrain influence animal distribution. Our guide may discuss tourism impacts, guiding techniques, park rules, accommodation operations and wildlife protection. Students can participate in observation exercises or short discussions at safe stops before enjoying a picnic lunch and continuing with afternoon wildlife exploration.

The return journey moves through pastoral savannah, rural settlements, highland agriculture and the Rift Valley escarpment. Our guide may conduct a short review of the safari themes, allowing students to ask final questions and compare the landscapes observed. Suitable comfort stops will be included before drop-off at the agreed school, hotel or Nairobi location.
