Welcome the New Year on a 4-day Maasai Mara safari from Nairobi with festive midrange accommodation and two complete wildlife days.
Begin the year with adventure on this 4-Day New Year Maasai Mara Celebration Safari from Nairobi. The package combines scenic road travel, extended wildlife viewing and a relaxed festive atmosphere at a comfortable midrange lodge or camp. You will enjoy an afternoon game drive and two full days exploring the Maasai Mara before returning to Nairobi. Depending on your confirmed dates and accommodation, the programme may include a New Yearβs Eve dinner, music, a countdown gathering or a special holiday meal. Our guide will help you welcome the new year through wildlife encounters, open landscapes and memorable safari moments.
Your New Year safari begins with pickup from Nairobi before travelling approximately 270 kilometres to Maasai Mara, taking around 5½ to 6½ hours. The journey passes through the Great Rift Valley escarpment, highland agriculture, rural centres, pastoral country and open savannah. Our guide will include suitable washroom, refreshment and photography stops. After lunch and check-in at your midrange lodge or camp, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive lasting approximately 2½ to 3 hours and covering around 25 to 45 kilometres through grassland, acacia woodland and seasonal water zones.
After breakfast, you will depart with packed lunch for an 8 to 10-hour game drive covering approximately 80 to 120 kilometres. Our guide will explore open plains, marshland, riverine woodland, acacia savannah and seasonal streams while searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, cheetahs and other wildlife. You will have a picnic lunch and continue with afternoon game viewing. When this day falls on December 31 or January 1, the lodge may organise a special dinner, music or celebration according to its holiday programme.
Your second complete day in Maasai Mara provides another 8 to 10 hours of wildlife exploration and may cover around 70 to 110 kilometres. Our guide will select different routes through rolling grassland, river corridors, marshes, wooded areas and short-grass plains. The day gives you more time to photograph wildlife, observe animal behaviour and enjoy the open landscapes at the beginning of the year. A picnic lunch will be included before continuing with the afternoon safari.
Following breakfast, you will travel approximately 270 kilometres to Nairobi, taking around 5½ to 6½ hours. The landscape changes from savannah and pastoral areas to agricultural highlands, Rift Valley escarpments and Nairobi’s urban outskirts. Our guide will make practical comfort stops before dropping you at your hotel, airport or agreed destination.
