Book a 4-day premium Maasai Mara big cat safari with private game drives, luxury lodging and extended lion, cheetah and leopard searches.
Our 4-Day Premium Mara Big Cat Territory Expedition is created for wildlife enthusiasts who want more time to search for lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas across the Maasai Mara. Your private journey begins from Nairobi and includes an afternoon game drive, two complete safari days and a final morning wildlife experience before returning to the city. Our experienced driver-guide will explore open grasslands, riverine woodland, rocky areas and predator territories while interpreting tracks, hunting strategies, social behaviour and prey movement. Elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes and birds may also be encountered during the predator searches. Big cat sightings remain natural and cannot be guaranteed, but the extended itinerary offers more time to explore varied habitats responsibly.
Early Private Departure
At approximately 5:30 AM in Nairobi, our driver-guide will collect you and begin the private journey through the Great Rift Valley toward Narok. A breakfast, refreshment or comfort stop will be included before continuing to Maasai Mara. Arrival near the reserve is normally expected between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM.
Afternoon Predator Search
After checking into your premium accommodation and enjoying lunch, you will enter the reserve from approximately 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Our guide will explore open plains and woodland in search of lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas while also observing elephants, giraffes and buffaloes. Dinner follows at your lodge or luxury camp.
Sunrise Big Cat Tracking
At around 6:00 AM, you will begin a full-day game drive during cooler conditions when predators may be active. Our guide will look for tracks, territorial behaviour, recent sightings and prey movement while exploring productive big cat habitats. Wildlife behaviour and road access will determine the route.
Picnic and Afternoon Predator Territory
At approximately 12:30 PM, you will enjoy a packed lunch at an authorised picnic location and discuss the morning encounters. From around 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, the guide will continue searching for lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas in another section of the reserve. You will return for dinner and overnight rest.
Morning Hunting Plains Exploration
At approximately 6:00 AM, you will return to the reserve for another complete wildlife day. The guide will focus on habitats not fully covered on Day 2 and search for predator behaviour, family groups and interactions with prey species. Elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and wildebeest will remain an important part of the safari.
Picnic and Extended Afternoon Search
After a picnic lunch at around 12:30 PM, the predator search will continue through riverine areas, open plains or woodland according to current wildlife movement. The additional day provides more time to wait for natural behaviour without driving aggressively between sightings. You will return to the lodge at approximately 5:30–6:00 PM.
Last Morning Predator Search
At around 6:00 AM, you will complete a final morning game drive while temperatures remain cooler. Our guide will revisit productive areas and search for predators or wildlife not encountered during the previous days. The drive normally ends between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM before returning for breakfast.
Breakfast and Nairobi Return
At approximately 9:00 AM, you will enjoy breakfast, organise your belongings and complete check-out. The road journey to Nairobi begins between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM and normally takes five and a half to six and a half hours. A lunch or refreshment stop will be included before final drop-off.

Are lions guaranteed?
No. Lions are present in the Maasai Mara, but they move naturally according to territory, prey and weather. The guide will search carefully without making guarantees.
2. Can we see cheetahs?
Cheetahs may be encountered on open plains, but sightings remain natural. Their location depends on prey movement and environmental conditions.
3. Are leopards common?
Leopards occur in the Maasai Mara but can be difficult to locate because they are secretive and often use woodland or riverine vegetation.
4. Is the safari only about big cats?
No. Big cats are the main theme, but elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes, hippos and birds may also be observed.
5. Is the vehicle private?
Yes. The package is planned with a private safari vehicle unless the final confirmation states otherwise.
Why are two full safari days included?
Two full days provide more time to explore different predator territories and observe natural behaviour without relying on one short drive.
7. Is hunting behaviour guaranteed?
No. Hunts and kills are unpredictable natural events and cannot be promised or created for visitors.
8. Will the Great Migration be included?
Migration experiences depend on travel season, rainfall and natural herd movement. Specific river crossings cannot be guaranteed.
9. What should travellers pack?
Bring neutral clothing, closed shoes, warm morning layers, sun protection, binoculars, cameras and personal medication
10. Can additional nights be added?
Yes. Extra Mara nights may provide more predator-viewing opportunities, or the safari can continue to Lake Nakuru, Naivasha or Amboseli.
