Book a 4-day premium Maasai Mara and Lake Naivasha photography safari with private game drives, luxury lodging, predators and lake birdlife.
Our 4-Day Premium Mara Plains & Lake Naivasha Photo Trail combines two distinctive Kenyan landscapes in one carefully paced photography safari. You will travel privately from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara for an afternoon game drive and a complete full-day photographic safari across open grasslands, riverine areas and rolling plains. Possible subjects include lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs, hyenas and birds, although exact sightings remain natural. On Day 3, our journey continues through Narok and the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha, where the peaceful lakeside scenery provides a strong contrast to the Mara savannah. Your final morning may include a boat safari, birdwatching or Crescent Island nature walk when confirmed in the package. A private safari vehicle, premium accommodation and patient guiding provide enough room and flexibility for cameras, long lenses and thoughtful wildlife observation.
Early Photography Departure
At approximately 5:30 AM in Nairobi, our driver-guide will collect you from your hotel, residence or agreed meeting point. After arranging your luggage and camera equipment, you will begin the road journey through the Great Rift Valley toward the Maasai Mara.
Premium Camp Arrival
At around 12:00–1:00 PM near the Maasai Mara, you will check into your premium lodge or luxury tented camp and enjoy lunch. The early afternoon provides time to rest, recharge batteries and organise lenses before the first drive.
Golden-Hour Mara Photography
From approximately 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM inside the Maasai Mara, our guide will search for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and other wildlife. The warmer evening light may create strong portraits and landscape photographs before you return for dinner.
Sunrise Predator Search
At around 6:00 AM inside the Maasai Mara, you will begin a full-day photography safari while temperatures are cooler. Our guide will search for active predators, grazing herbivores and wildlife moving across the softly lit plains.
Picnic Lunch in the Mara
At approximately 12:30 PM at an authorised picnic location, you will enjoy a packed lunch and a short rest. You can review photographs, change batteries and prepare equipment before continuing the afternoon drive.
Afternoon Savannah Photography
From around 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM across the Maasai Mara, our guide will explore another wildlife zone while considering animal behaviour, road access and available light. You will return to your premium camp for dinner and overnight rest.
Final Mara Morning
At approximately 6:30 AM near your Maasai Mara accommodation, you will enjoy breakfast and prepare for check-out. Depending on lodge location and the confirmed programme, a short wildlife drive may be completed before leaving the reserve area.
Rift Valley Transfer
From around 8:30 AM, our journey will continue through Narok toward Lake Naivasha, with lunch or refreshments arranged along the route. The drive normally takes several hours depending on road conditions, stops and accommodation location.
Lakeside Photography
At approximately 3:00–4:00 PM at Lake Naivasha, you will check into your premium lakeside lodge and enjoy a relaxed afternoon. When time and weather permit, you may photograph lake scenery, birds and gardens around the property.
Morning Lake Photography
At around 7:00 AM at Lake Naivasha, you may enjoy a confirmed boat safari, birdwatching session or Crescent Island nature walk. Possible subjects include fish eagles, pelicans, herons, kingfishers, giraffes, zebras and antelopes.
Breakfast and Check-Out
At approximately 9:30 AM at your Lake Naivasha lodge, you will return for breakfast, organise photography equipment and prepare your luggage. Check-out will normally be completed before late morning.

The Booking Form
Book a 4-day premium Maasai Mara and Lake Naivasha photography safari with private game drives, luxury lodging, predators and lake birdlife.
N.B: After you send your booking we will get back to you with in 24 hours.
1. Why combine Maasai Mara and Lake Naivasha for photography?
The destinations provide very different subjects. Maasai Mara offers predators, large mammals and open savannah landscapes, while Lake Naivasha adds water reflections, birdlife, lakeside scenery and possible walking-safari photography.
2. Is the vehicle private?
Yes. This premium photography package is planned with a private vehicle unless your final confirmation states otherwise. The arrangement provides additional equipment space and a more flexible photography pace.
3. Which lenses are recommended?
A telephoto lens such as 100–400 mm is useful for wildlife and birds. A wider lens is valuable for savannah landscapes, lakeside scenes, large animal groups and environmental photographs.
4. Are predator sightings guaranteed?
No. Lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas move naturally across the ecosystem. Our guide will search carefully, but no responsible operator can guarantee a specific predator encounter.
5. Does the package include the Great Migration?
Migration experiences depend on the travel season, rainfall and natural herd movement. Specific river crossings or herd locations cannot be promised.
6. Is a Lake Naivasha boat ride included?
The boat ride is included only when listed in the final quotation. Weather, water conditions and local operating requirements may affect the activity.
7. Can photography equipment be charged at the lodges?
Most premium properties provide electricity or charging facilities, although supply may be limited during certain hours. Carry spare batteries and a power bank as backup.
8. Can we carry tripods?
Yes. A monopod or beanbag is usually easier inside the safari vehicle. A lightweight tripod may be useful at the lodge or during permitted lakeside photography activities.
9. What happens during rain?
Game drives normally continue when roads remain safe. The guide may change the route if some tracks become difficult. Rain can produce dramatic skies, reflections and softer light.
10. Can the photography safari be extended?
Yes. Additional nights may be added in Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru or Amboseli to create a more varied Kenya photography journey.
