Welcome the year on a 4-day premium Maasai Mara safari with private game drives, luxury lodging and unforgettable sunrise wildlife.
Our 4-Day Premium New Year First-Light Mara Safari provides an inspiring way to complete one year or begin the next in the Maasai Mara wilderness. You will travel privately from Nairobi for an afternoon safari, two full days of wildlife exploration and a final morning drive before returning to the city. Possible sightings include lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs, leopards and birds. New Year dinners, countdowns, music, decorations and entertainment depend on the selected lodge and may attract compulsory festive supplements. Premium rooms and private safari vehicles are limited during this period, so early booking is recommended.
Private Festive Departure
At approximately 5:30 AM in Nairobi, your guide will collect you and begin the road journey through the Great Rift Valley. Luggage will be arranged safely, with breakfast, refreshments and comfort stops included. Arrival is normally expected around midday.
Final Afternoon Safari of the Year
After check-in, lunch and a short rest, you will enter the reserve from approximately 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Our guide will search for lions, elephants, giraffes and plains wildlife before returning for dinner and any confirmed New Year programme.
First Wildlife Drive of the Year
At around 6:00 AM, you will begin the year with a full-day safari across the open Mara plains. Cooler conditions may provide opportunities to observe active predators and grazing animals. The route will depend on natural wildlife movement.
New Year Picnic and Afternoon Drive
At approximately 12:30 PM, you will enjoy a packed lunch and a peaceful break. From around 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, the safari will continue through another wildlife area before returning to the lodge.
New Year Wildlife Exploration
At approximately 6:00 AM, you will return to the reserve for another complete day of game viewing. Our guide will explore habitats not fully covered on Day 2 and search for wildlife that may have been missed.
Picnic and Evening Safari
After lunch at around 12:30 PM, the safari will continue through predator territories, elephant areas and open grazing plains. You will return to the lodge at approximately 5:30–6:00 PM for dinner and relaxation.
Last Mara Sunrise
At around 6:00 AM, you will enjoy a final sunrise game drive before breakfast. The guide will revisit productive locations and search for a memorable last encounter. The drive normally ends at around 9:00 AM.
Breakfast and Nairobi Return
After breakfast and lodge check-out, you will begin the return journey at approximately 10:00–10:30 AM. A lunch or refreshment stop will be included before arrival in Nairobi, although festive traffic may affect the final time.
