4 Days Private Midrange Safari for Elders from Nairobi

Our guide will collect you from Nairobi for the approximately 260–280 km private transfer to Maasai Mara. Although the road normally requires 5–6 hours, scheduled comfort, refreshment and washroom stops may extend the journey to around 6–7 hours. The route moves through highland farmland and Rift Valley scenery before reaching grassland and acacia woodland. After lunch and rest at your midrange lodge, you may join a gentle 2–3-hour afternoon game drive in search of elephants, giraffes, lions and plains animals.

Rather than remaining in the vehicle continuously, you may divide the day into a 3-hour morning drive and a 2½–3-hour afternoon safari with a lodge break between them. Approximately 50–80 km may be covered through open savannah, acacia woodland, riverine vegetation and seasonal wet areas. Our guide will maintain an unhurried pace while searching for elephants, predators, buffaloes and grazing herbivores. Guests who prefer a continuous full-day outing can request it in advance.

After breakfast, you will travel approximately 230–250 km to Lake Naivasha. The standard drive takes 5–6 hours, but additional comfort breaks can be included without rushing. You will move from dry Mara plains and acacia scrub into cultivated Rift Valley countryside and the greener papyrus-fringed environment around the lake. Your midrange Naivasha lodge will provide a comfortable setting for afternoon rest.

You may begin with a 1-hour boat safari covering approximately 5–10 km, provided you are comfortable boarding the vessel and local conditions are suitable. Life jackets must be worn while observing hippos and waterbirds from a safe distance. The Crescent Island walk normally lasts 1½–2 hours over 2–4 km, but it can be shortened according to mobility and comfort. You will then travel approximately 90–100 km to Nairobi in about 2–2½ hours.
