4 Days Samburu and Ol Pejeta Luxury Christmas Wildlife Safari

Our driver-guide will collect you from Nairobi and begin the approximately 310–325-kilometre Christmas journey to Samburu. The five-and-a-half-to-six-and-a-half-hour drive passes highland farms, towns and dry northern landscapes, with suitable comfort stops included along the route. After arriving at your selected luxury lodge or camp, you will check in, enjoy lunch and settle into the festive atmosphere prepared by the property. Your afternoon drive may reveal elephants, reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, gerenuks and lions before you return for dinner and any Christmas programme offered by the lodge.

You will celebrate Christmas with two wildlife drives covering approximately 40–70 kilometres and around six hours in total. The morning safari may reveal elephants beside the river, predators in cooler conditions and rare northern animals moving through the scrubland. You will return to the lodge for breakfast, relaxation and a festive lunch before beginning another drive later in the afternoon. Attractions may include Somali ostriches, giraffes, Beisa oryx, lions, birds and a warm Samburu sunset. You will return for a festive dinner or seasonal evening arranged by the property.

Your day begins with a final Samburu drive of approximately 15–25 kilometres and around two hours before breakfast and check-out. You will then travel approximately 140–170 kilometres to Ol Pejeta Conservancy over three to four hours. The route changes from dry northern wilderness to greener highland farms and open ranch landscapes. On arrival, you will check in at your luxury accommodation, enjoy lunch or refreshments and relax in the quieter Christmas atmosphere while learning about rhino conservation and the conservancy’s wildlife.

After breakfast, you will check out and travel approximately 210–230 kilometres to Nairobi, a journey of four to five hours. During departure through authorised conservancy roads, final wildlife opportunities may include rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, zebras and birds. A suitable festive-season lunch, refreshment and comfort stop will be arranged before drop-off at your Nairobi hotel, residence or airport.
