What is a "Luxury Offroad" safari?
It combines high-end accommodations with specialized 4x4 vehicles designed to handle rugged, untamed tracks in remote parts of the Serengeti and Lake Eyasi.
2. Are the vehicles different for an offroad safari?
Yes. We use heavy-duty, modified Land Cruisers with enhanced suspension, snorkel kits for river crossings, and recovery gear to ensure safety on rougher terrains.
3. Is it very bumpy during the drive?
While "offroading" naturally involves uneven surfaces, our luxury vehicles feature premium seats and suspension to minimize discomfort.
4. Where do we go that regular safaris don't?
We explore the "hidden" corners of the Western Corridor, the remote Ndutu plains, and the rocky kopjes of the North-Central Serengeti.
5. Is it safe to go off-track?
Safety is our priority. We only go "off-road" in designated areas where it is legal and safe, accompanied by highly trained guides and GPS tracking
6. Do we still see the Big Five
Absolutely. In fact, going off the main tracks often leads to more exclusive sightings of leopards and rhinos away from the tourist crowds
7. What happens if the vehicle gets stuck?
Our vehicles are equipped with winches and sand tracks, and our guides are experts in recovery. Additionally, our backup team is always on standby via satellite radio.
8. Are the lodges in these remote areas truly "Luxury"?
Yes. We utilize "Fly-camps" or "Mobile Luxury Camps" that move with the wildlife, offering gourmet dining and en-suite showers even in the deep bush.
9. Is this safari suitable for photographers?
It is perfect for photographers. The ability to move away from the main roads allows for better angles and lighting without other cars in your shot.
10. Do I need special insurance for an offroad trip?
Standard travel insurance is required, but our package includes comprehensive "AMREF Flying Doctors" evacuation cover for total peace of mind.
