Climbing Time: 3-4 Hours, 8km/5 Miles After a detailed briefing and equipment check, our adventure begins with a one-hour drive to the Kilimanjaro Park Gate. Here, we complete the necessary registration procedures before embarking on our 5-day Kilimanjaro climb. Following the trail, we will reach the Mandara encampment within approximately 4 hours. Along the way, you have the option to take a side trip to Maundi Crater, which offers magnificent views of Northern Tanzania and Kenya.

The climb will take approximately 6 hours, and we will spend the night at Horombo Hut (3,720 meters) nestled in a valley with stunning flora, including giant lobelias and groundsels. At this altitude, you may begin to feel the effects of the altitude, so take it easy and stay hydrated.

Today’s Climbing Duration: 5-7 Hours, 9km/5.5 Miles As we continue our ascent, we pass the last watering point and make our way towards the saddle of Kilimanjaro, located between the peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo. The vegetation gradually transitions into a desert alpine zone at an altitude of 4,000 meters. During this slow-paced 7-hour walk, be mindful of the first signs of altitude sickness. We will rest and have dinner at Kibo Hut, where we prepare ourselves for the summit climb.

Today's Climbing Time: 6-8 Hours Up to Summit (6km/4 miles) and Descent (15km/9 miles) Around 2 am in the morning, we embark on the final push to reach the summit. The initial part of this climb is done in darkness, requiring headlamps or flashlights. We navigate the steep and snowy scree to reach Gilman's Point (5,861 meters) located on the crater rim. From there, we continue our climb for 2-4 hours to ascend Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. The breathtaking views from the summit make the challenging climb truly rewarding. Capture the moment with a photo at the summit, creating a lifelong memory. We then descend and stop at Kibo Hut for lunch and rest before continuing to the Horombo encampment, where we will spend the night.
