5 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari with Midrange Lodges: Maasai Mara

Our guide will collect you from Nairobi and begin your Kenya wildlife safari through the Great Rift Valley. After a short scenic stop, you will continue through Narok and the surrounding countryside towards Maasai Mara. You will check into your midrange lodge or tented camp, enjoy lunch and prepare for an afternoon game drive. Possible sightings include elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, lions and numerous birds.

After breakfast, you will leave with a packed lunch for a full-day wildlife safari across Maasai Mara. Our guide will follow productive routes in search of lion prides, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeests, giraffes and hippos. Your lunch will be enjoyed at a designated picnic site before continuing into another wildlife-rich part of the reserve. You will return to your midrange accommodation before dinner.

Your third day allows you to explore Maasai Mara more extensively and search for animals not seen during the previous drive. Our safari may reach the Mara River region when conditions allow, where hippos, crocodiles and riverine wildlife can be observed. Our guide will also search for leopards around suitable woodland, cheetahs in open country and large herbivore herds across the plains.

After breakfast, you will leave Maasai Mara and travel towards Lake Nakuru through the Rift Valley. Our journey will pass farms, towns and elevated landscapes before reaching the Nakuru region. When your midrange accommodation is situated inside the national park and there is enough time, you will enjoy an afternoon wildlife drive. Guests staying outside the park will relax and enter Lake Nakuru the following morning.

Your final Kenya wildlife safari drive begins after breakfast inside Lake Nakuru National Park. Our guide will search for black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, baboons and birdlife. The park’s woodland, shoreline and viewpoints provide a striking contrast to Maasai Mara’s vast plains. After completing the game drive, you will depart for Nairobi and arrive in the late afternoon or evening.
