Excitement builds with an early start between midnight and 2 am. The toughest part of the trek begins. Ascend in a switchback formation, staying focused and warm. Reach Gillman's Point on the crater rim for a spectacular sunrise. Faster hikers may see the sunrise from the summit. Congrats on reaching Uhuru Peak, Africa's highest point Overnight at Horombo Hut.
