Day 1: Marangu Gate climb to Mandara Hut

At 8:00 am, we will pick up clients from the hotel and drive to Marangu Gate. From there, we will begin our trek through a dense rainforest, which will take approximately four hours to reach Mandara Hut at an altitude of 2,750 meters. We will have dinner and spend the night at the hut.

Day 2: Mandara Huts climb to Horombo Huts

After breakfast, we will continue our trek at a leisurely pace, passing through the forest and then the savanna bush. Our destination for the day is Horombo Hut, situated at an altitude of 3,489 meters. We will have dinner and spend the night at the hut.

Day 3: Horombo Huts climbho to Kibo Huts

Today will be a challenging day as we climb to Kibo Hut at an altitude of 4,703 meters. The ascent will take us 6-7 hours, crossing the barren sub-Alpine terrain between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Upon arrival at Kibo Hut, we will take time to relax and prepare for the next stage, which begins shortly after midnight on Day 5.

Day 4: Kibo Huts to Summit and back to Horombo Huts

We will start our ascent very early, around 1:00 am, following a zigzag path up the steep scree slope. This section of the climb is the most challenging and steepest, taking approximately five hours to reach Gillman's Point at 5,681 meters. From there, we will continue for another 45 minutes around the crater to reach the highest point, Uhuru Peak, the summit of Africa. We will witness a breathtaking sunrise behind Mawenzi, illuminating the plain. After enjoying the views and capturing memorable pictures, we will descend to Kibo Hut for a rest and then continue to Horombo Hut.

Day 5: Horombo Huts descend to Marangu Gate

The final day is relatively easier as we have the luxury of walking downhill. We will make our way back to Marangu Gate, where a vehicle will be waiting to transfer us to your hotel in or Moshi.
