Day 1: Marangu Gate climb to Mandara Hut

Rainforest We departs from the hotel and head to the Marangu Gate, where we complete the necessary formalities. The trek begins with an ascent through a beautiful tropical rainforest. Along the way, we may encounter blue colobus monkeys. We reach Mandara Hut in the afternoon, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Mandara Huts climb to Horombo Huts

Moorland We start the day with a steep ascent through the forest, which soon opens up to moorland. If the weather is clear, we will enjoy breathtaking views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. In the afternoon, we arrive at Horombo Hut, where we can relax and take in the stunning scenery.

Day 3: Horombo Huts climb to Kibo Huts

Semi-Desert Today, we gradually climb towards the lunar desert of the Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. The pace will be slow as we make our way to Kibo Hut at an altitude of 4,700m. We spend the night here, preparing for the final ascent.

Day 4: Kibo Huts to Summit and back to Horombo Huts

Glaciers, Snow Capped Summit We wake up before midnight and begin a challenging climb over loose volcanic scree. After reaching the rim of the main crater at Gillman's Point, we can rest and witness the sunrise over Mawenzi. Those feeling strong can continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After taking in the accomplishment, we descend to Kibo Hut for a break and continue to Horombo Hut.

Day 5: Horombo Huts to Marangu Gate

Rainforest We descend from Horombo Hut, passing through Mandara Hut, and reach Marangu Gate. Successful climbers will receive their summit certificates. From there, we will be transferred to the hotel for overnight stay.
